The Entrepreneurship Incubation Cell (EIC), PEC University of Technology is a self-financing, not – for
-profit organization. It is an initiative that aims at fostering the spirit of entrepreneurship in the
college. The aim of the organization is to help the youth break free from the shackles of mediocrity
and to awaken the youth towards considering entrepreneurship as a serious career option. It
administers as a business incubator that provides support for technology-based entrepreneurship.
The Centre offers courses such as Ethics and Self Awareness, Communication Skills (Basic and
Advanced), Economics, Sociology, Psychology and French to B. Tech 1st & 2nd year students. In
addition to a compulsory course in Management to B. Tech 8th semester students, minor
specialization in various Management subjects (Financial Management, Business Environment &
Business Laws, Managing Innovation and Change, Human Resource Management, Marketing
Management, Business Research, etc.) are offered to B. Tech 7th and 8th semester students.
The CMH also offers Communication and So Skills (CASS) to M. Tech students. In addition, PhD

The two-day annual “Open House” is an event, organized by the Career Development & Guidance Centre
(CDGC). It serves as a platform for the college students to showcase their technical projects. Students from
different Technical Societies also get a chance to show case their talent at this platform. During the event
CDGC invite students (10th class-12th class) from different schools of Tricity to have an exposure to the
possible career paths in Engineering.
OPEN FORUM
Open Forum is a public platform for all the stakeholders at PEC, who wants to associate with CDGC for
placement and Internship processes. The Rules & Guidelines are discussed, deliberated and adopted for
the forthcoming session.

Beyond Academics
Punjab Engineering College(Deemed to be University) provides a host of various students activities, for the
all-round development of the students. These activities range from sports, personal hobbies, inter-hostel
events to technical interests. The college also has a renowned yearly festival PECFEST which is known all
around India and also Internationally. The students are encouraged to become the member of various
bodies/clubs/societies in the college like IEEE, Robotics Society, SAE, SAASC, Dramatics Club, Art and
Photography Club, Entrepreneurship & Incubation Cell and many more to help broaden their skills and
horizons. Students also get a chance to represent the college at various National and International events.
These student bodies not only help the students explore their hidden talent but also help in areas such as
personality development and inculcating in the students the spirit of the organization by providing them

Dharam Pal
Appointed as the Adviser to the UT Administrator, Chandigarh, he is a 1988 batch IAS officer
of the AGMUT cadre, did his Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Electronics and Communications
from PEC during 1981-85 and MTech in Computer Systems from IIT Delhi. Prior to his current
appointment, he was serving as the Additional Secretary, Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilisers,
GoI. He has vast experience in several sectors including delivering health services to
communities located over different islands to providing electricity to islanders, from having
seven-year international working experience with the United Nations to heading several
departments.
Anup Panday
The Union government on 8th June appointed Anup Chandra Pandey (IAS Retd. UP Cadre
1984 Batch) as the Election Commissioner of India. He is Punjab Engineering College(PEC)
alumnus of Mechanical Engineering (Batch 1979). He also holds an MBA degree and a
doctorate in Ancient History.He has served as the Chief Secretary in Uttar Pradesh from
2017-19. In the Election Commission, Pandey will have approximately three years in office
and will retire in February 2024.
Sandeep Bakhshi
Mr. Sandeep Bakhshi is the Managing Director and CEO of ICICI Bank since October 15, 2018.
Prior to his appointment as MD & CEO, he was a Wholetime Director and the Chief Operating
Officer (COO) of the Bank. He earned a degree in mechanical engineering from Punjab
Engineering College, Chandigarh, and has a postgraduate degree in management from XLRI
- Xavier School of Management, Jamshedpur. Mr. Bakhshi has been with the ICICI Group since
1986 and has handled various assignments across the group in ICICI Limited, ICICI Lombard
General Insurance, ICICI Bank and ICICI Prudential Life Insurance.
Dhanpat Singh
Dhanpat Singh is a Former IAS officer who has been appointed as the new Haryana state
election commissioner. He is out alumnus of 1982 Civil Batch. He also did MA Public
Administration and MBA from the University of Hull, England, UK. He also completed
advanced course in Program & Project Management from University of Connecticut, USA
and also in Senior Leaders in Management from Harvard University, USA. He is also the
President of Kalpana Chawla Memorial Foundation and is associated with several NGOs/
social organisations.
