Introduction:
This documentation will detail Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), formally branded
PhoneFactor, user portal access and personal account management.
Intended Audience:

Introduction
Sykes uses Windows Azure Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) to help safeguard access to data and
applications. You can self-manage your MFA account using the MFA User Portal.

Note: Multi-Factor Authentication is the Microsoft rebranding of PhoneFactor. You may see the terms
inter-twined in this documentation.

1. Open web browser and navigate to https://phonefactor.sykes.com/phonefactor


2. Login with your network login using the “<domain>\<username>” format.

3. If this is your first time logging in to the User Portal you will be prompted to setup your preferred
Authentication Method. You will have 4 options, select the option directed to you by your
management.

Phone Call
Confirm/Update the Phone Number listed and click on the “Call Me Now to Authenticate” to
proceed. If successful, you will receive the call back from MFA to complete authentication. You
will then be authenticated to the MFA User Portal and be prompted to setup your security questions.

Text Message
Confirm/Update the Mobile Phone Number listed and click on the “Text Me Now to Authenticate”
to proceed. If successful, you will receive the text from MFA to complete authentication. You will
then be authenticated to the MFA User Portal and be prompted to setup your security questions.

Mobile App
(Search “Microsoft Authenticator” from your smartphone App Store to download)
Click on the “Generate Activation Code”, launch the MFA mobile app and scan the QRT code to
authorize your smart phone. Click on the “Authenticate Me Now” to proceed. If successful, you
will receive the MFA popup on the mobile app, click ok to be authenticated to the MFA User Portal
and be prompted to setup your security questions.

OATH Token
Enter the serial number listed on the back of your SAFEID OATH Token. Press the power button
on the Token and enter the 6 digit security code. Click “Verify OATH Token” to proceed. If
successful, you will be authenticated to the MFA User Portal and be prompted to setup your security
questions.

4. Once you have selected your authentication method on your first login, you will be prompted to
complete the Security Questions portion of the MFA User Portal signup process. Please take note of
these answers as they can be used to properly authenticate you in case you lose your primary method
of MFA Authentication.

5. Once you have successfully logged in, you can manage your MFA account options.

5.1. Change Method : Allows you to change the method MFA will authenticate your account.
Your options are, where applicable: Phone Call, Text Message, Mobile App and OATH Token

5.2. Change Phone : Allows you to update your call back phone number. This is the number MFA
will call back to authenticate your login.

5.3. Activate Mobile App : If you have an iPhone, Android or Microsoft smartphone, you can
download the “Microsoft Authenticator” application for free. The smartphone app will receive

the authentication request via push. This is the recommended method to use MFA if it’s
applicable to you.

To setup the smartphone app, go to Activate Mobile App and click on “Generate Activation
Code”

This will generate a scannable Activation Code. Open the smartphone app and click on the +
sign to add the activation code. Click on the “Scan Barcode” button to scan Activation Code
and use the phones camera to scan the barcode.

5.4. OATH Token : If you are the recipient of a DeepNet OATH Token, you can self-register the
hardware token by entering the Serial Number on the back of the token and the 6 digit code.
Click on the power button on the hardware token to get the current 6 digit code to be entered.
This code changes every 60 seconds.

5.5. Change Security Questions : This is where you can manage your security questions.
