FISHERIES RESOURCES SURVEY SYSTEM

DEPARTMENT OF FISHERIES
Present report is the 19th in the series. The Fishery Statistical
Yearbook of Bangladesh contain information from July 2001 to
June 2002.

This report comprises fish & shell fish catch (landed) by sectors,
habitat, species and district-wise. Information on the carp spawn
collected from natural sources & spawn produced through induced
breeding in hatcheries for aqua-culture; fish & fish products and
other related matters are also presented in the report. The catch
is estimated on the basis of frame survey of water bodies &
fishing units conducted during 1981-1983.

It is hoped that this report will be useful for planning,

development and management of the fisheries in Bangladesh.

Any constructive comments and suggestions for improving the

fishery statistics would be highly appreciated.
