3. expressed the importance of evaluating the online platforms in developing
ICT content.

An online platform is a support of technologies created to manage within an


online environment and gives interactive online services.
Online platforms cover, but are not limited to:

A. Presentation or Visualization

• Allows to present and share presentations,


infographics, and videos with other people.
• Use to communicate information clearly and
efficiently.
• This includes SlideShare, Microsoft
Presentation, and Prezi
• Use mostly in all professional tracks such as
in marketing, engineering, and teaching.

B. Cloud Computing
• Popularly known as the cloud, it utilizes a
network of remote servers hosted on the
Internet.
• Stores and access data and files over the
Internet instead of using the computer's hard
drive.
• Google Drive, iCloud, One Drive, Dropbox,
and Amazon WorkDocs are examples of cloud
storage.
• Use in programming, business and
education.

C. Social Media
• An internet-based technology
that helps to share ideas,
thoughts, and information
through virtual networks and
communities.
• Provides users quick electronic
communication of content which
includes personal information,
documents, videos, and photos.
• According to the Statista

• social media platforms worldwide based on the number of active users as
of January 2021 are Facebook (2.74 billion), YouTube (2.29 billion),
WhatsApp (2 billion), Facebook messenger (1.3 billion), and Instagram
(1.221 billion).
• Use in video vlogs, business, and teaching.

D. File Management

• The practice of storing, naming, sorting,


converting, and managing computer files
without downloading the software tool
• The file conversion tools include
CamScanner, Zamzar and word2pdf
• Use in IT field, business, and education.

E. Mapping

• Utilizes Global Positioning System (GPS) to detect


the location and is used for navigation.
• Google map is an example of a commonly used
navigation app.
• Use in tourism, driving, hiking, and investigative
profession

F. Web Page Creation

• Involves several important elements such


as color, layout, and overall graphical
appearance.
• The platform does not necessarily require
any web programming skills. Some websites like
Wix, Weebly, and WordPress offer a drag and
drop interface or a template and free hosting as
well.
• Use in business and education.

IV. Activity 2
DIRECTIONS: In a separate sheet of paper, write your answer. Rate how

1 as least likely used and 5 most likely used. State the reasons for using the
platform in connection with your chosen professional track in Senior High
School (example TVL Track, Academic, Sports or Arts & Design).
