The “Fine Print”

This Document is a derivative work. The source documents are not required to stay in sync with this
guide.
The Feature Codes relate precisely to the Offering Structure and Sales Manual. The Part Number that is
included is the “Top Bill” part number which is used to build the ordering tables. The Top Bill DOES NOT
SHIP to a customer. This part number causes SMU Parts (Shippable Manufacturing Units) to be
assembled and shipped. The SMU number changes frequently during the life cycle of a product.

FRU Numbers, where listed, are for those features where a one-to-one relationship exists between the
Feature Code and the Field Replaceable Unit number. The source guide for these is the Hardware
Service Manual and the I/O Service Manual, accessed from the PUBLICATION tab on the TechLine
Support page.

Modular Keyboards – Announced in Summer 2008
The 2008 Keyboards are Features of the IBM POS Terminals. The Keyboard features actually have
features of their own which need to be ordered. These keyboards have BOTH USB and PS/2 interfaces
built-in. The interface to your terminal is dependent upon the cable that is ordered.

There are three basic keyboards - Modular 67-Key Retail Keyboard, Modular ANPOS keyboard, and
Modular Compact ANPOS. The keyboards are only available in Iron Gray for this product.

MODULAR KEYBOARD ORDERING STRUCTURE for MES UPGRADES

These are modular, build-your-own keyboards if you are ordering them via the MES process or
through 4611-bulk order machine type. This means, that you are responsible for ordering filler
plates (at an extra cost) for any of the modules that are omitted. One Lens kit is included,
however. For example, if an ANPOS keyboard with a Touchpad, without an MSR and without an
authentication module is ordered, the 4611 configuration would look like:

The EXCEPTION to this is the Preconfigured (FC 135x) keyboards. If these fit your need, then
they may be ordered, and the required fillers will be installed at the plant.
