Abstract:
Hadoop stands for High Availability Distributed Object Oriented Platform. There are three
major componens of Hadoop:

i)Hadoop HDFS(storage unit)

ii)Hadoop MapReduce(processing unit)

iii)Hadoop YARN(resourse management unit)

Hadoop is the popular open source implementation of MapReduce, a powerful tool designed for deep
analysis and transformation of very large data sets.

Hadoop enables you to explore complex data, using custom analyses tailred to your information and
questions.

Advantages: Hadoop is an efficient and cost effective platform for big data becuase it runs on
commodity servers with attached storage, which is a less expensive architecture than a dedicated
storage area network(SAN).

who use Hadoop: A wide variety of companies and organizations use Hadoop for both research and
production.

Langauge required for Hadoop: The hadoop framework itself is mostly written in the Java
programming language.
