Email sent to parents and students on Wednesday, January 26, 2022

Dear Parents and Students,

Over the weekend, one of our students sent me a picture of graffiti written on
the wall of one of our bathroom’s stalls. The message included racist and
threatening language. As the principal of our school and a parent, I found this
deeply concerning and reprehensible. I contacted the Diocese and we
immediately began an investigation, which included a review of school
cameras. It’s unclear how long the graffiti was there. To date, we have been
unable to identify the person(s) responsible for writing it. The St. Petersburg
Police Department visited campus and investigated the situation. After our
review and consultation with the police department, we have concluded that
there does not appear to be a specific, credible threat to our students. That
being said, I want to be clear that any racist or threatening language will not
be tolerated as it goes against our values as Christians and as a Catholic
school.

I ask parents to have a conversation with their children, reminding them of the
seriousness of this issue and the importance of reporting things of this nature
immediately. We are still seeking information on who is responsible and
would greatly appreciate any insight into this matter.

I trust that coming together as a faith community, we can deal with any issues
that we are facing. Please keep all of the Baron family in your prayers.

Fortes In Unitate,

Good afternoon,

In an effort to be more fully informed of issues on or off campus and better

able to respond to concerns, we have created an SPC Cares Google form that
students, faculty, staff, and parents may use to report concerns. We
recognize that there are times when people value anonymity. As a result,
identifying yourself is not required but could help when investigating
situations. We are hopeful this will provide us a better understanding of the
needs of our community and the level of support required. The link is on the
home page of the website and may be found using the link below.
