Welcome to the course People Management-HR101x.

This page will guide you through the course syllabus and provide important
information related to this course.

Every functional manager is a People manager and his/her effectiveness is


determined by how well he understands the people dimension. A major part of
a functional manager’s responsibilities comprises attracting, engaging,
motivating, retaining and developing people.

The course is intended to engage and foster critical thinking among Functional
Managers on their role as people managers in organizations.

The course will provide the participants an enhanced understanding of the


role of people management, enhance your awareness on the alignment
between HR systems & processes and organizational strategy and most
importantly help critically explore your role as people mangers in strategy
implementation.

4-5 hours per week. This includes the time spent in going through the course

(videos and reading materials), completing the assessment(s) and
participating in the discussion forums.

GRADING SCHEME

The course follows an objective assessment scheme, which consists of multiple


choice questions and scenario-based questions. There are 4 graded
assessments in this course:

1. One at the end of each week (total of 6 assessments)


2. One final exam at the end of the course
3. Self –assessments
4. Posts on discussion forum

The score from each assessment will contribute to the final score, which you
can track under the Progress tab. The weightage for the assessments is as
shown below:

The learner will have to attain a final grade of at least 60% to be eligible for a
certificate.

If you are taking a course as a verified track student, and want to be eligible to
pursue the in-campus option at IIM Bangalore with a Micro Masters Credential,
you must take the proctored exam for your final assessment. Anyone who
completes all 6 Business Management MicroMasters Program on or before 5th
Sep 2018, with relevant work experience is eligible to apply for AAMP at IIMB.

Exam section.

* Posts on Discussion Form: The primary objective of the course is to engage,


enable and promote learning, through learning from others .Hence we
encourage learners to share their experiences on the discussion forum with
reference to the discussion threads we post in every week. In order to gain
effectively from the 10% weightage allocated to posts on discussion forum,
reply to minimum two discussion threads per week and respond to any two of
your peer. We recommend you to share your experiences and knowledge on
the threads we posts. To exemplify, kindly make sure the sharing should not be
like simply mentioning ‘Yes I agree’ or ‘even I faced similar issues’. It has to be
your own experiential learning that you post.
