INTRODUCTION
This Technical Service Bulletin is to inform you of the production change and repair method for the subject
phenomenon. Applicable to vehicles produced before the production change effective VIN’s/frame numbers shown
Below.
Reason of revision: we would like to inform "cleaning of actuator and new checking point for motor resistance" point
for repair.

DESCRIPTION OF PHENOMENON
Some customer may experience and report the MMT warning light ON and the vehicle has DTC P0900.
The short circuit of the clutch actuator motor is caused by contamination of carbon powder
from the brushes mixed with grease of the bearing.
Check the repair procedure on the next page of this TSB to see whether this TSB is
applicable to the vehicle. contamination of carbon powder

PRODUCTION CHANGE
A plastic cover around the brushes has been added to the clutch actuator motor.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

Determine whether this TSB is applicable

Shift select mechanism


 Check for DTC P0900, if present;

a. Locate and disconnect the clutch


actuator electrical motor connector
b. Measure the resistance of the clutch
actuator motor wiring.
c. If the value is 0.1Ω to 100Ω. Install
the plastic cover according to this Clutch actuator motor
TSB (Measure between 1 and 2 on
the connector of the clutch actuator
motor. Without the wire harness
being connected)
d. In case the resistance of the motor
Clutch actuator motor electrical connector
is NG (lower than 0.1Ω or higher
than 100 Ω), Replace Clutch
actuator assy according to Repair
manual.

Warning
An Initialization and learning procedure needs to be followed in case you determine that the clutch actuator assy
needs to be removed.

Remove the clutch actuator assy from the transmission

 Check the repair manual for the removal procedure of the clutch actuator
assy.

Remove the Clutch Actuator Motor from the Clutch Actuator Assy
 Remove the 3 bolts on the clutch actuator motor.

Warning
Do not rotate the clutch actuator motor shaft notch when it is removed from the clutch actuator motor assy. It is
important that the clutch actuator motor only is reassembled in the exact same position as when it was removed.

Warning
When the clutch actuator motor only is removed, be careful, that the wave washer does not drop out of clutch
actuator motor assy.

Clean the clutch actuator motor and actuator body side.

 Clean up brush wear powder with air compressor actuator body


or tissue paper.

Warning
Don’t use cleaner (like a brake cleaner or parts cleaner )
and don’t touch motor brush holder .
Using chemical cleaner will damage the motor. actuator motor

Assembly of the insulating cover to the Clutch Actuator Motor only
 Assemble the field fix cover to the clutch
actuator motor,

Check the that the O-ring is correctly placed, not


damaged or not dirty

Reassembly of the Clutch Actuator Motor to the Clutch Actuator Motor assy
 When reassembling check
o The wave washer
o Position of the clutch actuator shaft notch
o Position of the field fix cover
o O-ring

 The tightening torque for the 3 bolts is 43Nm

Reassemble the clutch actuator assy to the transmission

 Check the repair manual for the assembly procedure of the clutch actuator assy.

WARRANTY INFORMATION
Warranty application is limited to correction of a problem base upon a customer's specific complaint.

Remark
The implementation of this TSB for rectification of the problem reported requires the mandatory
CCR(Condition, Cause, Remedy) comments in the warranty claim for further detailed technical analysis.
It is required to mention this TSB number in the Remedy field.
Failure to comply with this requirement could lead to claim rejection.
