Decide what to backup
o User account data files such as documents, emails, programs o Create an image of disk o Backup system files, windows system files, registry. Choose backup location o On a separate partition o On local servers (either in Sydney, Los Angeles or London) o On virtual server network RAID hard drives Burning CD/DVDs for backup o For less important data recovery options, quick methods are to use CD/DVD burning for backups. Create user and admin profiles o Run synchronized backup software which allows selection of user, date/time and location of backed up files to destination. o Profiles give a customized backup and restores tasks created. Run the backup o Copying partitions (imaging) using partitioning software by sector-to-sector hard drive partitioning. o Use the automatic backup software to sync to user or admin profiles at allocated times and destination, all backup should be duplicated on local servers. o System and database administrators to man data backup and recovery. Recover from a disaster o Images should be created on the local servers; crashed PCs are isolated and reimaged to retrieve original profiles and data. o Either that use a standard bootable backup recovery disk to reinstall and restore system settings and configurations.
