- Master degree
- Cairo university
- Started in 2015 and finished in 2019
- Academical career
- It was really tough
- working-study balcnce
- working around the clock
- 2 hrs to study

I just finished a masters degree in construction engineering. This was the hardest thing I ever had to do. [paraphrasing]
the program was 2 years now at Cairo University. This is the most respected University in our country. My dissertation
was about blah blah blah was on the use of plastic in construction. This was exceedingly difficult because most of the
academics Cairo University had no experience in this area. And there was very little work being done in this area about
the University

I found it incredibly tough to keep a full time job in to have a life. Maintaining a work life balance was very difficult on
my family, we have a close family, what always complaining that they never got to see me. My mum, especially, couldn’t
understand. but I had a 9 hour work day and I had to have some family time and then I had to spend alot of time reading
for and you know papers because that was very little available on my University. It felt like I was working around the
clock.

Looking back, of course, I know now that it was worth it - I received a job promotion of work and life has become much
better but if the time of course it was extremely different. It also opened my eyes to to the world of higher education in
construction engineering and I now want study of PHD ok
