Q.6 Find the probability that atmost 4 defective bulbs will be found in a box of 200 bulbs if it is known
that 2% of the bulbs are defective.

Q.7 Letters were received in an office on each 100 days.Fit Poisson distribution and find expected

Q.8 In an examination given by 500 candidates the average and s. d. of marks obtained are 40 and 10
respectly. Assuming the distribution of marks to be normal find approximately i) how many will pass
if 50 is fixed as a minimum , ii) what should be the minimum if 350 candidates are to pass (S.N.V.Z
area for z= 0 to 1 is 0.3413 for z=0 to z=0.525 is 0.2)

q.9 The income of group of 10000 persons was found to be normally distributed with mean of rs. 750
and s.d. of rs. 50. What is the lowest income of richest 250?. (Given S.N.V.Z. Area for z= 0 to z-= 1.96
is 0.475
