If markers already exist in your session, you can use them to make a selection
and set your record range. For example, to re-record the second chorus of a
song, you can recall the CHORUS 2 marker and then hold SHIFT while recalling
the VERSE 3 marker. This provides a quick way to select the target range.

The process of holding the SHIFT key to make a selection can be used with all
methods of recalling memory locations: n Clicking the marker symbol on the
Markers ruler n Clicking the entry in the Memory Locations window n Typing a
period, the memory location number, and a second period on the numeric
keypad
