Abstract: The purpose of Student Result Management System is to create a better method for storing the result of students in a
computerized form so that the result can be stored for a longer period with easy accessing and manipulation of the same. The
required hardware and software are easily accessible, and we can easily work with it. As mentioned above, the project can lead to
error free, secure, reliable, and fast management system. Reporting of results of college student will be more proper.
I. INTRODUCTION
Student Result Management System is a technological opportunity for the school, college, university, and coaching centre
institutions searching for a secure, simple and alternative solution to the conventional paper-based exam results evaluation
reporting and distribution. Like another software, the system come with certain advantage and disadvantage.
The software application unbelievable unravels and quickens the result management system with unique templates by providing the
administration a secure database system for storing, evaluating, and publishing the test scores and grades of candidates through
online. The database likewise allows the students to observe and gander at the exam results on the web at whatever point necessary.
The software exhibits some effortlessness in solving, adjusting, and eradicating the problems in traditional result and examination
management with automation system. One of the principal purposes of the system is to give the test result to the students in the
fundamental and exact way as possible. The administrator, teacher, professor, and staff can likewise modify and assess marks for
the students whenever needed.
II. PROBLEM STATEMENT
Earlier the admin/teachers used to store and manage the grades of the students in excel so sometimes it involved more time to write
the results and grades. There was also a problem that these results couldn’t be stored for long time as to keep the record of the
students for became difficult.
Results in excel are not easily sharable. Reporting of student’s result was result.
A. Survey
It is time consuming process as the user has to type the database commands. He has to remember all the commands which are
difficult.
It is limited to a single system.
A user who wants only to have some information has to contact the administrator every time. Today there exist some computer
program which helps user to find and store basic information such as student’s name, marks and seat number. Rest all the
computational work either needs a different program or is done manually by faculties of that institution.
B. Advantages
1) User friendly as faculties can handle use web-based application
2) All time availability in which system remains available as long as computer is well connected with network
3) It is easy computation
4) Easy to store data
5) More efficient
6) Requires less effort and time
C. Disadvantages
1) It is OS dependency if computer program is coded in Python language.
2) The use of linear search in file handling might increase time complexity
3) No advanced features benefit can be used such as in web application

III. METHODOLOGY AND EXPERIMENTATION
A. Objectives
The main objective of the project is to manage the details of student, result, subject, teacher, branch and section, year etc.
Example: It manages all the information about student, subject, semester etc. the project is built at administrative and teacher’s
end and thus only the teachers and administrative are guaranteed the access. The purpose of the project is to build an
application program to reduce the manual work for managing the student’s result in different subjects according to the college.
It also tracks the details about the subjects, class, semester.
Functionalities provided by Student Result Management System are as follows:
1) Manage the student’s result
2) Editing, adding, deleting, and updating of records is improved which results in proper resource management of student data
3) Integration of all records of semester
4) To increase the efficiency of storing student result
B. Description & Design
The Student Result Management System is the most popular and advanced website nowadays which can be used in dayto-day life.
The result of each student can be stored in the computerised manner and this result can remain for a long time. This website is
generally made for class teachers as well as subject teacher who made the records of each student.
First and foremost, things are that, Teacher registered into the website and then logged in. Then add each record of all students of
their respective course, branch, class, section and all the records are send to the administrator in which he/she could generate the
result in faster as well as in better manner. If teacher could find that if the student left with respect to their institution, then teacher
delete those record of the students by searching through enrolment number. Here update section is used for changing aur modifying
the marks of the students if the student finds any mistake or mismatch any marks for the particular subjects, it helps us to change
the record of each student of each subject by increasing and decreasing the marks. Here the home page of the website is used to
display the image of that project which makes attraction towards the customers so that the customer would be considered that this
website is productive as well as attractive.
IV. FEATURES
Admin features of student result management system are:
1) Login Page: The page where the system administrator enters their system credentials in order to gain access to the system’s
administrative side.
2) New Student Classes Page: This is the page where an administrator can add a new student class.
3) Classes List: The page with a list of student classes that can be navigated to update or delete a class.
4) New Subject Page: The page to which an administrator can add new subject.
5) Subject List: The page with a list of subjects that can be navigated to update or delete a subject.
6) New Student Page: The page to which an administrator can add new student.
7) Student List: The page with a list of students that can be navigated to update or delete a student information.
8) New Result Page: The page to which an administrator can add new result.
9) Result List: The page with a list of result that can be navigated to update or delete a subject.
V. APPLICATIONS
A. Can be used by private and small schools.
B. Can be used in private tuitions and coaching.
C. Can be used in schools & colleges for storing the result.
VI. RESULT AND DISCUSSION
It is just another way of storing the result of the students. Most of the faculties use excel for storing the result of the students. Most
of the faculties use excel for storing the result of the students where many times the values of the marks of the students gets wrongly
stored. Here the advantage is that the marks will be stored correctly.

The main objective of the result management system is to manage the details of result, progress, student, course, exam. It manages
all the information about result, activity, exam, result. The project is totally built at administrative end and thus only the
administrator is guaranteed the access.
VII. CONCLUSION
This team finally presented a software application meant to automate the processing of students results following standard statutes
and guidelines. The application was successfully developed, tested, and found to be working as expected. The Result Processing
System was developed using PHP and MySQL. It has some qualities such as reduction in the cost of processing, reduction in time
spent in computing GPAS/CGPAS, generation of transcripts, and elimination of duplicate records, which makes it superior to the
manual system of students' results processing.
