SYNOPSIS.
This course is designed to introduce the AutoCAD application software. Students will be able to learn and
understand the basic CAD concept, basic drawing and editing commands, file manipulation, drawing set-up and
organization, view manipulation commands, precision input, text, dimensioning and plotting skills.
OBJECTIVES.
In this course, participants will learn:
• To understand the software tools used in the shop-drawing/atelier.
• To use proper commands and techniques effectively and precisely.
• To produce 2d drawing of architectural plans.
• To create soft & hard documentary for your drafting/design or project presentation.

LEARNING OUTCOMES.
The completion of the course, participants will be able:
• To understand general concepts and practical aspects of using AutoCAD in your design projects or
presentations.
• To produce 2D architectural plans or technical drawings.
• To understand the basic 3d modeling (Sketchup).

Although this course is titled for architects and interior designers, it actually provides the fundamental
knowledge for anyone who wishes to use AutoCAD.

ASSESSMENT CRITERIA
All modules and assessable projects will be graded according to the following system. With respect to those units
that are designated 'Approved for Pass/Fail' the grade will be either PX or F:
