Good morning class!

Please stand up, and let us pray.

Tayson, please lead the prayer.
--Amen

Classroom management
Okay! Class before you sit, please pick up some pieces of papers or
trash and arrange your chairs properly.
And now, please be seated.

Attendance Checker, Ledesma, Is there any absent today?

None. Okay, very good!

Before we have our discussion for today, let us have this short drill.
Attention!
Okay. I know that, you don’t know what I mean when I say attention..
(In military, When they hear the word, “Attention,” all cadets will salute and remain in
attention until “At ease” is given, or another command, or until the officer passes.
But in our class, when I say attention, you stick your hands together and raise it as fast
as you can. if you don't do it right away it means that you are not paying attention.)
So let's try again, Grade 8,

Attention.

Very Good! It means that everyone is paying their attention.

Class before we proceed to our lesson, let me see if you can still recall our
past lesson.
What is Force?
Yes, Macado.
Very Good! So, Force is any push and pull that causes change in motion
of an object.

What is Displacement?
Yes, Payoyo.
Very Good! Again, Displacement is the change in position as measured
from the starting point to the final point.

Last meeting, we discuss the concept of Force and its nature because it
places a significant role in our topic for today.

. LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:
 identify the Newton’s Laws of Motion;
 participate actively to the activity about force and motion; and
 show awareness on how the Newton’s Laws of Motion function in our
daily life through role playing.

1. Class, Are you familiar with this man?

2. Who is this man?
Yes, Jalayjay. Very good. He is Sir Isaac Newton.
3. Can you give me some of his contributions?
Dandan - He is the Father of Modern Physics
Okay! Very good! What else?
Castro - He established the Three Laws of Motion

Now, this time, let us have our activity for today.

Our activity is Pantomime)
Short trivia. Pantomime is the art or technique of conveying emotions, actions, feelings,
etc., by gestures without speech.
For the instruction.
I will divide you into three groups and I need 1 representative for each group to
choose a phrase that you will act through non-verbal.
The other 2 groups are given only 1 minute to guess the phrase.
For example, Sleeping in bed.
(After 3 minutes, let us assumed that we have students that are engaged in our activity,
I will act these phrases)

Phrase 1: Riding a bus

Phrase 2: Pushing a cart
Phrase 3: Walking on the street
Based on the activity, let us have a short analysis.
First question.
 Which scenario shows the first law of motion? Why do you say so?
Magsanay- Riding a bus! because even if the body remains still, we can still consider it
in motion because of the moving bus.
 Which scenario shows the second law of motion? Why do you think so?
Manuel- Pushing a cart! because if you are going to apply force on it, and that cart has
a mass, it will accelerate. The 2nd law of motion deals with the relationship of force,
mass, and acceleration.
 Which scenario shows the third law of motion? Why do you think so?
Berico- Walking on the street . because there is an interaction happens between the
feet and the ground. action force: the feet is pushing on the ground. Reaction force:
The ground pushing on the feet.

This time, let us deepen our understanding about these 3 laws of motion. Let us
discuss them one by one.
Newton’s Laws of Motion
 Law of Inertia (1st Law) Navarro, kindly read the statement of …
States that:
- “A body at rest will remain at rest and a body in motion will continue moving with
constant velocity unless acted upon by an unbalanced force.”
The object will change its state of motion only if there is unbalanced or net force acting
upon it.
Let’s take a look to some examples of Newton’s law of inertia. (read ppt)
.
.
.
.
.

The law of acceleration deals with the effect of unbalanced force or net force to an
object.
To accelerate means to change in speed and direction or to change in velocity.
Newton’s second law of motion establishes the relationship among force, mass, and
acceleration.

 Law of Acceleration (2nd Law)

Yanzon – Kindly read
States that:
- “The acceleration of a body is
directly proportional to the force
that cause it to move and
inversely proportional to the mass
of the object being moved.”
This can be expressed in equation form as: Acceleration = Net force / Mass
a = Fnet /m
This is often rearranged as: Fnet = ma Like any other quantity, force has a unit and is
expressed in Newton (N). One Newton is defined as the amount of force required to
give a 1-kg mass an acceleration of 1 m/s/s, or 1Newton (N) = 1kg m/s2
Let us have the shopping push cart as our sample problem. (pptx explain)
.
.
.
.
.
 Law of Interaction (3rd Law)
Montesclaros kindly read the Statement
“For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.”
It is interesting to know that though action and reaction forces always come in pairs
and are always opposite and directions; they cannot cancel each other because they
are acting on different bodies. Consider this example. (read pptx)

. Now, In the same group. I need again 1 representative to pick one of the Newton’s
Laws of Motion.
You will make a creative role-playing presentation based on the particular law that you
have picked.
You will be given 5 minutes to brainstorm and practice.

Later on, The rest of the class will guess what is that scenario or situation and what law
of motion was applied.

(Again, let us assumed that we have students that are engaged in our activity)

Very good class! This time, to assess your learning about our lesson for today, let us
have a short quiz.
In a ¼ sheet of paper answer the following questions:
Choose from the options below the principle that explains the instances given.
A. Law of Inertia
B. Law of Acceleration
C. Law of Interaction
.
.
.
..
After 10 minutes,
Ok let us check, exchange your papers to your seatmate.

.
.
..
Before we end our lesson for today, who would like to summarize Newton’s 3 laws of
motion.
Yes, Felix…
Very Good.
 DO you have any questions or which part of the lesson needs to be reviewed.
 None? Very well.
 This time, let us go back to our learning objectives if we have met them.
Basa ppt..

As for your assignment,
In your assignment book, draw or find a picture of any accident where all
three laws of motion are relevant, and state how each law was relevant.
A. Law of Inertia
B. Law of Acceleration
C. Law of Interaction

.
.
.
.
.before we officially, conclude of meeting for today, let me read this
quotation in reflection to our lesson.
.
Basaaaa.
.
.

That’s all for today, Congratulations class for doing great.

See you again next meeting.
