2. What do you understand by the term Fundamental Rights? Out of all the fundamental

3. In the now famous Nirbhaya rape & murder case the process of justice took seven years
to be completed and the implementation of the death sentence also was inordinately
delayed by finding loop holes in the process of justice. Based on these facts answer the
following questions:
(i) Do you think justice delayed is justice denied? Comment.
(ii) In this context do you think society has the right to pronounce a verdict of death
sentence to a convict in such a heinous crime? Justify your answer.

6. In an open cast mine, two workmen of a contractor were working on a screen assembly
at a height of 9.5m from the ground level without being secured by a safety belt. During

replacement of the screen assembly, one workman lost balance due to slight jerk in the
screen assembly, fell and received serious injuries to which he succumbed at the end,
and another person escaped unhurt.
(i) Write a short note on the concept of safety in factories with reference to the above
case study.
(ii) Based on the above situation, identify the nature of accident. Mention at least four
workplace rights of an employee in terms of industrial safety.
