1. a) Define a tangent.
b) Construct a common interior tangent to two equal circles, centres O and 𝑂1, given the
radius of the circles 30mm and the distance between centres O and 𝑂1 is 75mm.

2. a) Define the term polygon.


b) Explain four (4) types of regular polygons.
c) With the help of 45𝑜 - 45𝑜 set square, construct octagon given one side of 35mm long.

3. a) What is meant by the term circle?


b) Draw a circle and show the following parts:-

vi. Quadrant
vii. Tangent
viii. Sector

4. a) Describe the term “ellipse” as used in engineering drawing.


b) Construct ellipse by using concentric circle or auxiliary circle method major axis and
minor axis are 80mm and 40mm.

5. a) With aid of clearly diagram describe the following angles:-


i. Reflex
ii. Acute
iii. Right
b) What is quadrilateral? Mention five types of quadrilateral.
c) Mention two (2) main characteristics of polygons.

6. a) Construct the following angles by using compass and ruler only:-


i. 67.5degree
ii. 75𝑜
iii. 120degree
iv. 135𝑜
b) Draw line of 80mm and then divide it in a ratio of 4:3:2:1
