I. OBJECTIVES:
By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to:
1. Knowledge:
- To help Ss know more about the adjective ending with some suffixes: -ed, -ing, -ful, -less
and understand the formation of its
- Help Ss how to pronounce / nd, ŋ, nt /
- Identify the irregular past tense verbs, the past simple and past progressive

- Work independently, in group to complete the task

3. Qualities/Attitudes.
- To help Ss get started for Unit 4 with the topic ‘ For a better community’
- To provide Ss some motivation
II. TEACHING MATERIALS.

+ Used to describe the personality, nature,
characteristics of people, things,
phenomena.
+ Usually used when the noun it modifies
performs or is responsible for an action.
+ Verbs are usually intransitive (no object)
and the tense of the verb is continuous
- ed:
+ Used to express emotions, feelings of
people or animals about a certain thing,
phenomenon, or event.
+ When the noun it modifies is the object
receiving the action of the action
+ Sentences with adjectives in the -ed form
are often derived from passive sentences.
+ Adjectives ending in -ed tell you how
someone feels about something
-LESS:
This suffix causes something to disappear.
It is synonymous with "without." (do not
have)
N+less -> adj (no N)
Eg: homeless = without a home (vô gia cư =
không có nhà)
heartless = without a heart (vô cảm
không có trái tim)
brainless = without a brain (vô thức
không có não)
-FULL:
This suffix means "full of something."
(full...) Like most suffixes, you will need to
remove or change a few letters.
