microprocessor controller. The dap4 includes all the functionality of previous Data
Aire controllers – while providing a solid platform for future growth for mission
critical operations.
dap4 Benefits
Control The dap4 offers the definitive answer for precision environmental control. It not only controls
temperature, humidity, airflow and cleanliness; it provides component run times, hourly duty
cycles and 24-hour temperature and humidity deviations.
Efficiency Airside and waterside economizers are available to help conserve power usage. Features like
“Humidity Anticipation” offsets the humidity set point to reduce excess humidification and
dehumidification. Options such as a variable compressor also contribute to energy savings.
Alarm Management
The dap4 offers extensive alarm management.
• An array of alarms conditions may be enabled, and some can be set to stop operations or completely
shut down the unit.
• Each alarm has temperature and humidity readings and the date time it occurred to assist in diagnosing
what caused the alarm.
• Four alarm relay contacts can be programmed to energize for any multiple of alarm conditions.
• Alarms are identified on the display module and sound an audible alarm, which must be manually
silenced.
• 100 alarms are stored in memory and each can be reviewed on the display module simply by scrolling
sequentially through the alarms.
• Each alarm is easy to read and indicates the conditions as well as the date and time of occurrence.
Features
• High quality microprocesssor to monitor and control the operation of CRAC units for data centers,
colocation facilities, IDF and MDF computer rooms. Other applications include archives, medical
imaging rooms, and indoor growth facilities.
• At the heart of the controller is a 32-bit 24 MHz processor with 4 MB of flash memory and 512k RAM. To
maintain the information in these components the controller is equipped with a rechargeable battery.
• Two basic components: a control module and a display module -- linked by a special telephone-like
cable. The display module, most frequently located in the door of a floor mounted unit, can also be
remotely located on an adjacent wall or panel – up to 150’ away. The compact control module fits easily
in the electrical box and has a perimeter bus for easy electrical connections. The control module’s case
of sturdy plastic makes it durable and resistant to damage and also minimizes the risk of electrical shock.
