Wh - questions
The Wh-questions can be:
- Object Questions &
- Subject Questions
Object Questions:
We are looking for the object of the verb:
The auxiliary always comes before / after the
subject.
Which are the auxiliaries?

Subject Questions:
Start with WHO, WHAT, WHICH, HOW
MUCH/MANY
We are looking for the SUBJECT of the verb.
Ex:

Who lives in that big house?

State & Dynamic Verbs
State Verbs:
State verbs describe an emotion, a thought or
sense. They are Not usually used in continuous
form.
Ex:
I don’t see very well without glasses.
NOT: I’m not seeing very well without glasses
State & Dynamic Verbs
State Verbs:
We often use the verbs of these of the senses
(see, hear, smell, taste, feel). We can use CAN or
COULD
Ex:
I can see some light and color.
I can’t smell very well. I am with the flu.

State Verbs:
Also include other verbs of thinking and opinion
such as think, believe, like, agree, dislike
Emotional verb: love, hate, envy.
Ex:
She hates cats. NOT She is hating cats.
I agree with you. NOT I am agreeing with you.

Dynamic Verbs:
Dynamic (or action) verbs describe actions we
decide to perform. We use dynamic verbs with
continuous verb forms to talk about an action
that is in progress.
Ex:
I’m listening to a really interesting podcast.
We’re getting to know each other.
