Moodle is a learning management system that provides teachers tools to teach students. The Moodle cloud portal allows creating effective online courses, adding activities and resources, allowing learners to submit assignments. Its architecture includes core infrastructure, activities/resources, blocks, themes, and enrollment/authentication/repository plugins. Pros include features for uploading notes, backups/restores, and profile management. Cons include limited data analysis, hidden features requiring training, poor mobile app, and limited third party integration. Dynamic rules allow defining automated conditional rules.

Aim: To study the architecture of Moodle Cloud portal and Moodle cloud site
Theory:
What is the Moodle Cloud portal?
. Moodle is a learning management system or course management system or virtual learning
environment, depending on which term you like. Moodle site is a fully hosted website with the
latest version of a powerful and secure moodle learning platform. Its goal is to give teachers a
tool they need to teach students.

We can do following things in Moodle cloud site:

 Create effective teaching and learning experience in a private and collaborative
environment.
 Add courses and provide various activities and resources.
 Allow learners to take quizzes, submit files and complete assignments.
 Add teachers and learners to your courses.
 As an admin, you can change the look and feel of your website.

Architecture of Moodle Cloud portal:

Moodle core provides all necessary infra-structure to build a learning management system.
It implements all the key concepts that all the different plugins will need to work with.
Main concepts in architecture are as follows:

1. Activities and resources

2. Blocks
3. Themes
4. Enrolment plugins
5. Authentication plugins
6. Repository plugins
Pros and cons of Moodle Cloud portal:

 Pros:
 Moodle has impressive features in uploading and downloading lecture
notes.
 The backup, restore and import features are really useful for teachers.
 Managing profile and setting enrollment keys are good features of moodle
to restrict the valid user.
 Easy to navigate.
 Connect with learners around the world.

 Cons:
 Providing immediate data analysis is the feature I am looking forward to
considering.
 There are lots of hidden features that require quite a bit of training.
 A relatively poor mobile offering.
 Integration into third party software is limited.
 It can be a headache to navigate back and forth in the dashboard.

Moodle by dynamically creating different entity:

Dynamic rule allows to define and execute centralized and automated rules using ‘if this
then that’ conditional approach.
Conclusion:
Thus we study the architecture of the Moodle cloud portal and pros and cons of Moodle cloud.
