Activity #3
Assessing my own emotions

Definition:
Your face lights up, and your heart is

Happiness overflowing with joy. We do what we do

because it brings us joy. Everything we do
and everything we see is filled with
happiness. You're making progress. It
doesn't matter if you achieve something
you never imagined you could or if you
stick to a minor goal. When you look back
on memories and see yourself smiling, it's
easy to forget what it was like to be sad.
This is when you feel happy.

Write down the happiest day of your life:

I have had several happiest days of my life:

1. When my family is complete, when my brother is still with us, we celebrate Christmas and New
Year, but now he has passed away.
2. I felt happy when my parents gave me money to buy an iPad and Laptop as a gift for me on my
17th and 18th birthday; even though we have financial problems, my parents still give us things
that we want. That's why I study hard to pay off the complex works they do for us.
3. When I once conquer my fears by singing on the stage of San Isidro Labrador Church. I was
once a member of a children's choir. And one of my fears was singing in front of many people.
My whole body gets trembling in so much afraid, but I conquer it with the help of my family,
especially my parents. They always watch my performance with my choir mates. They are
always there to support me. That's why I feel confident performing in front of many people
because I know someone supports me.
4. Also, I feel happy when I graduate from elementary, junior high school, and senior high school
because I'm already four years step away from graduating from college. I can already help my
parents with financial problems and fulfill our dreams of having our own house and lot and
traveling in other countries.
5. Last March 2020 was the day when my Grade 10 friends were complete. That day is the 18th
birthday of one of my friends. That's also one of the happiest days of my life because even
though we enrolled in different schools since we were in senior high, God gave us time to see
each other completely before the government declared the lockdown. And when I'm with my
friends, I forget a little while my family problems.

Sadness
a natural response when a
circumstance causes emotional
distress or sorrow. Sadness is
commonly felt after the death of a
loved one.

Share your saddest memory:

The first saddest memory that I will forever remember is when my brother died when I was 12
years old. I feel sad because my brother is very close to me. He always gave me the things he also has. I
didn't expect God to get him that day because when I went to school, I requested some stuff from him
while playing mobile games. I feel so sad today when I always know that my brother will not be with us
on every special occasion like Christmas and New Year. The second most painful memory is when I
was six years old when my family almost broke apart because of my mother's addiction to gambling.
And my father unintentionally slaps me because I interfere when my parents fight with each other. My
third saddest memory is when my father works in distant places to provide for our needs.

Activity #3
Assessing my own emotions

One feels the shock and disbelief
when something horrible happens

Surprised out of the blue.

When was the last time you feel surprised?

The last time I felt surprised was when my neighbor told me at the gate of our school that my
brother was dead. First, I didn't believe what she said because when I went to my class, my brother was
still strong, but when I opened my phone and saw the text from my parents, my brother was gone.

Anger is an intense irritation or
displeasure caused by something improper
Anger
or unfavorable. It's enough to make the
blood boil in my veins. I feel angry when I
think someone has acted unjust, harsh, or
unacceptable.

What makes you angry?

1. I felt angry when someone disrespected me, my parents, friends, and relatives.
2. I felt angry when someone called me "Hoy."
3. I always felt angry and lost patience with my niece because I always thought she wouldn't have
common sense when I was teaching her something and when I requested her about the household
chores. I always get angry with her when she talks back to me, her grandparents, who are my
parents and always talks back to her mother. She is always getting on my nerves.
4. I felt angry at those insensitive people when they joked with other people beyond the line.
5. I felt angry when someone talked loud when I did my activities or made a video as our project.

Disgust is an intense distaste or

Disgust rejection of something. As if you're

about to get sick from something nasty I
see, smell, or taste.

How do you deal with feeling disgusted?

When I felt disgusted, I tended to close my eyes, so I didn't have to see the disgusting object
example of this is the many small holes in the skin, which is a phobia called Trypophobia. Sometimes I
may even feel like throwing up since some things happen in my body, stomach, and throat. I felt
disgusted at those individuals who can't have adult discussions and have no evidence to back up their
claims but assume they have the high ground of the topic. If they can't win, they start calling you
names. I stay away from those toxic people.

Fear is a state of mind characterized by
anxiety or apprehension about someone or
Fear
something—the feeling of being nervous or
unsure.

What makes you fearful?

I have a fear of heights and the ocean. And my intense fear that my body is trembling and I feel
itchy in my whole body is when I see small holes called Trypophobia. Aside from my phobias, my
greatest fear is if my parents die. And I feel anxious whenever I think that I'm going to die. I don't know
what I will do when my parents pass away. I rather die first before that happens. I also fear what will
happen to me in the future if I am successful or not.
