EDITORIAL

This volume of i-manager's Journal on Information Technology (JIT), (September – November 2020: Volume-9, Issue-
4) has five peer reviewed research papers that covers diverse topics in Information Technology. The Journal performs a
double-blind peer review process to help authors in refining the quality of the submitted articles, emphasizing innovative
contributions building up over the references, and assuring the international standards. This journal covers the application of
Information Technology to address the latest developments in the field to meet present world challenges.

Edwin Mathew et al. developed a keyword-based text document retrieval system. One of the most fundamental
problems in data mining is to find out some piece of information from a data repository. For such purpose, a general
purpose indexing and ranking algorithm needs to be implemented so that programmers can use further techniques to
optimize the algorithms more suited to the types of documents that are being parsed for information. The purpose of this
research paper is to provide the engineering foundation in detail for implementing such a system.

Vinod Kumar et al. investigated on an educational computer program for design of building components.
Reinforced concrete design is very complex and repetitive in nature for neophyte students to understand practical aspects
in construction. In order to overcome this problem, suitable tool is required. In this paper, educational software which is
created in visual basic 6.0 is presented for students which are user friendly and robust in nature for day-to-day works in site.
After using this educational software, many students expressed their appreciation about their understanding in reinforced
concrete design.

Sivakumar et al. proposed a SaaS application for running large scale application in lightweight cloud with strong
privacy protection. The software renting will be a replacement for traditional software license in future, and this project is a
vehicle to head in that direction. The software renting provides competitive advantages between the software vendors.
Centralized software maintenance and delivery reduces the transaction cost. Software renting will be helpful for vendors to
expand their business opportunities. It provides better chance for software vendors to survive in the industry. This paper helps
to increase the flexibility of customers in using commercial software.

Madhumathi and Gomathi made an investigation on text analytics in e-commerce platforms for product
managers. The work flow model can be implemented with data mining in the E-commerce platforms. Multiple queries
have been figured out and have been solved in this paper. The data and reviews are generated automatically. The text are
generated with web crawler and stored in database as raw data. The data are cleaned with Natural Language Processing
methods and algorithms. The specific type of algorithm is run for specific new cases in different platforms. This is designed in
a manner to be used by the humans for the interaction purpose. Python is used for pulling data out of files. The process gets
automated and the data is cleaned to attain the efficiency.

Malini et al. made a proposal on a real smart education using augmented reality. In rapidly changing society,
where there's an excellent deal of obtainable information and knowledge, adopting and applying information at the
proper time and right place is required to maintain efficiency in both school and colleges. Augmented Reality (AR) is one
technology that dramatically shifts the situation and timing of education and training. The basic idea of AR is overlaying
virtual objects on a true world image, thus "augmenting" the important world image which we currently see. This technology
might be very useful in various domains like medicine, automobile, plane industry and space research.

We extend our sincere thanks to the authors for their contribution towards this issue and we are grateful to the
reviewers for spending their quality time in reviewing these papers. Our special thanks to the Editor-in-Chief, Dr. Mohammed
A. Abdala for his continuous support and efforts in further improving the quality of the Journal.

Hope this issue imparts an enlightening reading experience! Enjoy reading!

ABSTRACT
The design of reinforced cement concrete is very important subject for students as well as engineers. Reinforced
concrete design is very complex and repetitive in nature for neophyte students to understand practical aspects in
construction. In order to overcome this problem, suitable tool is required. In this paper an educational software which is
created in visual basic 6.0 is presented for students which is user friendly and robust in nature for day-to-day works in site.
After using this educational software many students expressed their appreciation about their understanding in reinforced
concrete design. The graphical user interface (GUI) of the programs developed in this software is also presented in this
paper.
Keywords: Reinforced Cement Concrete Design, Visual Basic 6.0, Graphical User Interface (GUI).
