Rev. B Liquid Knock Out Vessels

1440 psi and 250 psi

1. INTRODUCTION

The following information gives the functional design requirements of the Liquid Knock
Out Vessels.
The liquid knock out drum is designed to remove entrained liquid droplets prior to the
gas being routed to the flare or disposal system.
KO Vessels within 1440 psi/working pressure, will be used downstream of separators.
KO Vessels within 250 psi/working pressure, will be used downstream of surge tanks.
The vessels will also provide liquid retention in the event of a full flow relief scenario or
carryover when installed within a safety relief line system.

NOTE: This Functional Specification has been developed in line with ISO13879
“Petroleum and Natural Gas Industries – Content and Drafting of a Functional
Specification”. It may be used by the supplier for quotation and outline design
purposes. The supplier is required to produce a Technical Specification to meet the
requirements of this Functional Specification, all in accordance with ISO13880
“Petroleum and Natural Gas Industries – Content and Drafting of a Technical
Specification”. Once the Technical Specification has been approved by Expro Group
Engineering, it, and not this Functional Specification, will be used as the contractual
design specification.
