Lesson Plan in Mathematics

Grade 1

I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson the learners are expected to:
a) Identify different kind of shapes
b) Draw different kind of shapes with names
c) Describe different kind of shapes

II. Subject Matter


Topic: Different kind of Shapes with names
Reference: Elementary Mathematics Grade 1
Materials: Video presentation, pictures, and visual aids

III. Procedure
A. Preparation
1. Prayer
2. Checking of attendance
3. Motivational Activity/Drill
 Video presentation about different shapes names
 Ask someone inside the class to answer the questions:
1. Unsa na mga shapes ang nakita ninyo sa video?
2. I drawing sa blackboard ang shape na imong ganahan
didto sa video? ug ngano?

B. Lesson Proper
1. Activity
 Distribute the activity sheet to each student inside the room
 They are given 5-10 minutes to finish the activity

Draw the following shapes below.

1. Square
2. Rectangle
3. Circle
4. Triangle
5. Heart
2. Analysis
 With the use of visual aids and pictures the teacher will explain
and elaborate the different kind of shapes with names and the
objects that the same figure inside their home and community.
 The teacher will ask questions such as:
 Unsa na mga shapes ang makita ninyo sa inyong
balay?
 Unsa kini na mga butang?
 Gi unsa nimo pag kabalo na kana na butang kay
shape?
 Ginagamit ba na nimo nga butang?

3. Abstraction
 All shapes have unique figure.
 Learning shapes can help the children to identify and organize
visual information.
 Shapes also help children to understand other sign and symbols.
 We can see shapes anywhere we go.

4. Application
 The teacher will provide individual assessment for the students.
 Each student is assigned to do and finish this assessment in 5-
10 minutes.

List down the names of shapes that you can see in the picture.

Look inside your home for the object and things that has similar shape such as:
