INSPIRATIONALMESSAGES
Dear Students,
Congratulations on another successful year with the project “Writing Beyond the Wall”.
Each year, I am amazed by the products, hard work and dedication from the students and
teachers involved in this program. This program has become an integral part of the school and
I am proud of the accomplishment of the students past and present. In education, there should
always be a connection between what is learned and how it can be applied. Writing Beyond the
Wall helps all students become better technicians.
Once again, it’s not about what you learned; it’s about how you apply it.
An Inspirational Message
Writing Beyond the Wall Students and Staff,
You are so inspiring! I am so proud of each of you! You have grown in so many ways! You have grown in
spirit. You have grown with one another and created lasting bonds with new friends and educators. You
will never forget the experiences you have shared during the WBTW activities. They will c h a n g e
y o u r l i f e . You have grown academically and emotionally because of your time and dedication. You
have not only grown but you have touched other lives by giving and sharing! I am so proud to work with
such wonderful and caring students dedicated to growing as young adults! It is my wish that you carry on
in life learning and remembering from what you have accomplished this year so that it might inspire you
to grow and make positive changes in this world as you have in our community this year.
Congratulations for a job well done!
“Be yourself. Above all, let who you are, what you are, what you believe,

Dear WBTW heroes,
A hero is defined as a person who is admired for his or her
courageous achievements and noble qualities. Heroes possess a great
strength or ability. Each of you has courageously met the challenges
and succeeded in WBTW. Just when I think that it cannot be
better, you demonstrate great strengths through writing. As well, you

Visiting the Local Heroes:
a trip to the Garland Firefighters
By Jeanette Sanchez
Visiting some of our local heroes like our
Garland Fire Department was truly an eye-opening
experience for me. It was also rewarding to be able
to give some gifts for them. We brought the
firefighters some food that was bought from the Lose
for a Cause project proceeds. Through this trip, I
learned a lot about them like their responsibilities as
well as my duties as a citizen.
I discovered the importance of not
playing with the fire alarms because they
mentioned that when we do that, there are times
when there is already a real cause, problem, or fire,
and they think that it’s false and that the kids from
the school are just playing. This means that by
doing those things, we are risking other people’s lives
and even ours.
Aside from this, I found out that the firefighters
had to be away from their families and they were
on-call 24/7 whenever they were on duty. I see that
they do not just do this for a job, but they do this
because they truly want to help people. Both men
and women firefighters volunteer and risk their lives
just to make sure others are safe.
In my mind I had the idea that the firefighters WBTW for me is very
