As a teacher we have to provide children the challenge to make them work, previous
knowing their knowledge asking them about the topic we are going to teach, to make
the language closer to them, to be more active making them feel involved in
cooperative tasks.
This is possible with visual aids, repetition, using simple tenses, involving the whole
group in the repetition, providing very clear instructions. We can do teaching
meaningful creating routines and an appropriate atmosphere, singing, using rhymes
and chants and paying attention to our student´s multiple intelligences, considering
mistakes as a step to learning.
We are going to learn about animals because it is a closer topic for them. They play a
lot whit stuffed animals and they like stories and cartoons about animals. Actually,
most of the families of our children have a dog, a cat, a bird or even a rabbit or a turtle
