The article entitled "Career Path Choice: Passion or Practicality?" was written by Anthony
Robledo and got published on the 30th day of November in the year 2018. This article discusses
how Passion and Practicality turn into an enormous job in individuals when settling on choices
for their profession, which brings up the contentions about decisions that will benefit or give
productions to their future. It has to do with the context of having the contrast and relationships
of passion and practicality when it comes to the planning of careers and can also include growth
development and settlements of future works that focus on students. As communicated, students
at a more elevated level do have the ability and knowledge to pick what they desire or want, and
I do concur that it would be better to settle their readiness in facing the challenge to have a
brilliant future for them.
In the article, it has stated that the reality of failures could give the turns of the dreams of
a passionate teenager into an awful situation, where they cannot escape its outcome. And it is the
same as the student pursuing a career path without thinking of the practicality of the situation;
however, another could avoid both by pursuing a career that they are certainly can succeed in by
working it out together. (Robledo A., 2018). Students' perceptions or experiences become their
symbol to give the methods of having passion and practicality of an individual, where there are
the insights of its definitions to give functions to the plan of having a career. In a part of the
article, Mrs. Olivos claims that although a particular career path could be more practical, without
passion, a person could live a life of misery, and it can have considered being a fact within the
perceptions of many.
Anthony Robledo wrote his article that is considered applicable to the circumstance of
individuals of today, and it impartially expressed how hard it could be to pick either practicality
or passion in the existence of a person. They aim to inform the reader about having decisions in
their career that include the aspects of what they want to have, that will make them happy, or
what they need to have that will support their daily living. And it does accomplish the
articulations of expressions and emotions of many readers for attaining its actual situation of
many in having career planning. The experiences of undergraduates in taking their career path
become the utilization of pointing out their idea, and it effectively had given means of their
purpose, for career starts with youth like them, the students. The article asserted that the goal of a
career path driven by passion is to eventually obtain a career in which one lives day by day, of
doing the things they love. Although both of these things sound great, without the consideration
of both, a student’s path becomes impractical. And that is true because, according to Jake De
Guzman (2018), the key thing is to try to do both, to find a way to make a living, and find a way
to live with passion.
To sum up everything, Practical or Passion, they are both fundamental to be part of
someone's life. Everybody has various things to decide, so by having the effort to consider what
they imagine for their future to be, there will always be an opportunity to pick a significant and
professional way that in the end will satisfy them. Remember to be at peace with yourself. You
don’t have to always choose one thing over the other. But you must always be honest with
yourself and what you want. (Nucum K. N., 2019).
