Introduction
Bookstore Management Software will automate all the operations in the
bookstore. The sole purpose of this system will be to manage the books in the store. Generally,
it will include order processing, stock management, and accounts management. This software
will have ability to maintain records of the sales, purchases and staff records as well. In this type
of software there will be all type of automation that is required in the bookstore. At the initial
start of the business when the owner buys the books will be added to the database along with
its name, price, and author name. It will also be having a feature that will remind how much the
owner must pay the dealer from whom the books were bought and that will be sold in dealers
tab. It will also include that staff details as well as with their contacts too. The stock section will
provide the details regarding the stocks that are available and unavailable etc.

The bookstore management will provide following services

1. Search availability of the book/stock


2. Addition/removal of stock/book
3. Provide digital bill
4. System should generate sales statistics

The requirements for the software would be that it will just require a computer or a
cellphone that would work and after opening the app it will just take admin id and
password to give access to all the systems of the software. moreover, during the
initial days of business days it will require admin to enter the details of the stock like
book name, author name, price, and ISBN.

The design of the system would be user friendly so that it can be used by anyone
with a simple and mid UI that would make it look simple and useful. At first
developer would provide the admin password and username after that he will be
directed to a homepage where he will get options to add stocks and remove stocks
and search books.

Developer will make sure that the software is free from any type of the bugs which
will make hinderance in the working of the software. The system will go through
many tests like unit/system/design testing before the final complete product.

It will be having a routine maintenance where it can get additional features and bugs
would be fixed and more and more reliability would be brought to the software for
the better version. It will be made sure that system remains up to date.

Objectives
The software will have dedicated interference for the admin to use the software and
make digital bills for the books or the stock bought which will remain in the cloud-
based database.

It will give access to admin to add books, remove books, Search book moreover it
will also have more functions like day sales week sales as well as month sales, and
provide detailed sales too.

It will have the accessibility to search for the book through the help of the ISBN,
retailers will be able to keep track records of the book sales through ISBN. It will
allow you to enter ISBN barcode and track each title by its code while selling or
searching a book.

It will also analyze sales from different aspects and detailed inside into top selling
books or authors. It will also generate reports to check the sales by the author,
genre, or by any other attribute attached to a book.

Create custom based discounts for the clients to boost up the sales for the books
which are not selling to the average. Certain discounts can be introduced like world
book day discounts or new book discounts offers etc.

Bookstore Management System will provide a complete log of transactions of the


sales and stock to the admin for the complete day week and month making it more
reliable and efficient software.
