Difference Between Variable and Attribute

An attribute is a characteristic of an object, such as eye color or sex, while a variable represents an operationalized way of representing attributes, such as assigning "high" or "low" values, for data processing purposes. Variables can vary in value and may be multidimensional, whereas attributes are either single-valued scalars or vectors and cannot have sub-attributes. Attributes focus on characteristics, while variables focus on measurable quantities and represent attributes for analysis.

DIFFERENCE BETWEEN VARIABLE AND ATTRIBUTE:

***In science , an attribute is a characteristic of an object (person,

thing, etc.).Attributes are closely related to variables. A variable is a
logical set of attributes. Variables can "vary" - for example, be high or
low. How high, or how low, is determined by the value of the attribute
and in fact, an attribute could be just the word "low" or "high".

While an attribute is often intuitive, the variable is the operationalized

way in which the attribute is represented for further data processing. In
data processing data are often represented by a combination of items
and multiple variables.

Variable:

*A variable is any characteristics, number, or quantity that can be

measured or counted. Age, length, business income ect. are examples
of variables.

* Variables may be multidimensional.

*A variable may have attributes.

*Variable data focuses on measurements.

Attribute:

*An attribute refers to the quality of a characteristic .Example: eye

colour,sex etc.

*Attributes are all either scalars (single-valued) or vectors.

*An attribute cannot have attributes.

*Attribute data focuses on numbers
