Module 9 Gen Math

This document provides information about rational functions including intercepts, zeroes, asymptotes, and examples. It begins with examples the learner knows and introduces new concepts like identifying intercepts and asymptotes of rational functions. Practice problems are provided to identify vertical and horizontal asymptotes. An assessment confirms the learner can identify key aspects of rational functions and two additional activities provide further examples to find intercepts, zeroes, and asymptotes of rational functions.

Independent practice 1

1. 2x + 6 (as the numerator) and x-3(as the denominator)

2. The x-intercept of the function is x=-3 or (-3, 0). I used the numerator of the rational function which is
2x+6, and I equated it to zero to get the x-intercept.

3. The y-intercept of the function is y=-2 or (0,-2). I substituted 0 to the x value of the rational function.

4. The zero is at x=-3
