The Fibonacci Sequence is a peculiar series of numbers from classical mathematics that has
found applications in advanced mathematics, nature, statistics, and computer science. The
Fibonacci sequence is a series of numbers where a number is the addition of the last two
numbers, starting with 0, and 1. Sequence of numbers, such as 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, in which each
successive number is equal to the sum of the two preceding numbers. Many shapes occurring in
nature, such as certain spirals, have proportions that can be described in terms of the Fibonacci
sequence.
a. Organization
Mathematics is the pillar of organized life for the present day. Without numbers and
mathematical evidence, we cannot resolve many issues in our daily lives. There are times,
measurements, rates, wages, tenders, discounts, claims, supplies, jobs, stocks, contracts, taxes,
money exchange, consumption, etc., and in the absence of these sports data, we have to face
confusion and chaos. We apply our organizational skill by simple doing household chores such
as arranging pillows, keeping the kitchen clean, planning for today’s meal and etc. In the field of
social media, analysts can crunch all on line postings using software to gauge sentiments from
netizens regarding particular issues or personalities. More so, endangered animal population can
be conserved by plotting migration routes.
b. prediction
To make predictions mathematical models can generate analysis and interpretation using existing
data. Experts can calculate the chance of an event occurring by applying the concept of
probability. Science is so successful because theorists can use mathematics to make a prediction
experimenter can test. Mathematics has been used to predict the existence of the planet Neptune,
radio waves, antimatter, neutrinos, black holes.
c. Control
Natural objects and phenomenon behave by the underlying mathematical structure. Interactions
and relationships of nature can be best described by mathematical equations. Through
technological advancement humans were able to expand their horizons and be able to prove
certain phenomena. Mathematics as a tool, man is able to exert control of himself and the effects
of nature. Examples are climate change and global warming.
