My English improved significantly through studying the IB course in Norway. When I first arrived, my English was very poor and I struggled to understand lessons, communicate with others, and feel independent. Through studying IB subjects in English, reading books, researching vocabulary, giving presentations, and using English daily, my listening, speaking, reading and writing skills improved greatly. I can now understand most of what others say, communicate confidently, and complete tasks independently in English. The IB experience helped me advance my English abilities and gave me confidence to live abroad more easily.

My English improved significantly through the course experience of IB.

English is very important today. It is an international language. It's like a bridge that connects people,
nations, cultures, and countries to close together. English is very helpful for you in life, you can travel
anywhere you like, may have more friends in other countries, etc. Especially, when you live in
another country, if have it you very easy to work and study. I am Vietnamese and I arrived in
Norwegian to attend a study IB course in Skagerak International School. My English was very bad but
now it was better. I want to share with you how the process of my English improved through the
course experience of IB.

For the first year at Skagerak International, my English was very bad. seemed dumbed and deafed in
my first days of school, and it was horrible. I don't understand and have trouble answering when
someone says something to me. I also have trouble about lesson in the class, I was studying a lot of
by myself at home, I was shy when speaking English or going somewhere, I always need help from
my friends. This is a time was terrible for me because I am feeling I always dependent to someone,
and that was the reason why I want to try my best to study English as well as possible.

And now I very happy because I realized that my English was improved significant. I can understand
almost what you are saying and can answering focus on the questions. And the big things make me
happy that I can go anywhere alone and don’t shier when speak English with someone. I am felling I
can do everything by myself, not dependent on my friends.

My English has improved a lot and I think it's largely due to the process of studying the IB course.
Always being taught in English by teachers, help me more hear and help me improve my listening
skill. In other subjects, I also read the book in English and search the mean of vocabulary I did not
know, now I can add them to my meager vocabulary. Because English is the main language here, I
must use it for tests and writing essays, speaking with other people, so it is a great motivation for me
to study it harder. In English Subject, I often give presentations about a certain topic in front of the
class, so it makes me more confident in speaking English in front of a crowd and improving my
speaking skill and pronunciation.

This course of IB experience has helped me a lot in improving all my skills in English. And I am very
happy about that. Although I cannot be as proficient as a native speaker, but I will try, and maybe
one day not far I can do that. Thank IB course give me an awesome experience and helped me a lot
during learning English, it let me be more confident, get along better with people, and the life easier
in another country and be more independent.
