NARRATIVE REPORT
“Promoting Student Engagement in Distance Learning”

Introduction:
As this challenging academic term begins, and some students are learning remotely,
while others are heading back in person, we urge educators to pause and reflect on what worked
— and didn’t — during remote learning last spring. While we eagerly await the moment when
all schools can safely resume in person, we strongly caution against reverting to the “normal”
way of doing things. “Normal” was not working for so many students before COVID-19 said,
Jade Bata.
Last October 30, 2021, at exactly 9:00, am a webinar entitled Promoting Student
Engagement in Distance Learning was conducted via zoom meeting. The participants are the
teachers of Senior High schools from different schools worldwide. The staff started the meeting
with a prayer then they presented the speaker. She was an ESL Instructor at Enderun Colleges
and currently teaching at the tertiary level where she handles Business English and Speech
Communication classes her name was Ms. Jade Bata. So how does this training help us as a
teacher? How to access this? What are the benefits of it to us?

Body:
The guest speaker started to talk and present videos / PowerPoints about the Aralinks
system that may be used in this time of the pandemic. She gave a lot of motivational words and
jokes for the listener to be attentive. First, she discussed the house rules or housekeeping in Tech
Check, Checking attendance, and asking the wellness of the listener “this is the most important
rule before you started talking” Bata also added. And while we are facing this pandemic she
promoted the different websites or links that the student will use for their distance learning or
asynchronous activities. Thus, in connection with the 5Ps: Proper, Preparation, Prevents, Poor
&Performance.
Here I learned that there were many functions, and how this system works nationwide. Aralinks,
Tek teach and Genyo is the first fully integrated online learning platform in the country. It
provides rich and engaging interactive multimedia content for the students so they can have fun
while enhancing their academic performance. Lastly, she asked the educators what is the
importance of having this system in our school?

Conclusion:
   As a teacher, Aralinks e-learning and the different system helps us to develop a digital
learning culture that promotes rich, relevant, motivating, and memorable learning experiences.
And for us teachers to learn and explore more about technologies that will use especially in
distance learning.
