NOTE: All answer in the activities will be written in one whole sheet of intermediate
paper. Label your answers properly per activity.
Activity 1: “What’s UP?”
Read the short selection acquired from NASA’s account on Exoplanet Exploration
(www.exoplanets.nasa.gov).
The concept depicts Kepler-186f, the first validated Earth-size planet to orbit a distant star in
the habitable zone – a range of distance from a star where liquid water might pool on the
planet’s surface. The discovery of Kepler-186f confirms that the Earth-size planets exist in
the habitable zones of other stars and signals a significant step closer to finding a world
similar to Earth.
On a separate sheet of one whole intermediate paper, answer the following process
questions.
1. What is the selection all about?
2. What are some of the proofs presented making our scientists believe that it is Earth like?
3. Why do you think NASA and the scientists continuously search for Earth like planets? Is
there really a need for us to find another Earth like planet? Explain why.
Directions: Answer the following questions. Choose and write the letter of the best answer
on a separate sheet of paper.
1. Much of the mass of the Solar System is concentrated at the ______ while angular
momentum is held by the outer planets.
a. apex c. center
b. base d. height
3. The periods of _________ of the planets increase with increasing distance from the Sun.
a. climate c. rotation
b. revolution d. season
8. The layer of the atmosphere that receives most of the high energy radiation is the ____.
a. Mesosphere c. Troposphere
b. Stratosphere d. Thermosphere
9. Type of rock formed from loose sediments, deposited by water, compacted and semented
together is known as ____.
a. Igneous c.Rocks
b. Metamorphic d. Sedimentary
10. Type of rock formed when Igeneous, Sedimentary and Metamorphic rocks are heated
and squished together forming new rock type is known as ____.
a. Igneous c.Rocks
b. Metamorphic d. Sedimentary

Activity 7. Poem
Construct a poem about Hydrosphere. The poem can be guided by the following
questions.
1. How many percent of earth is covered by water?
2. What is the importance of hydrosphere on Earth?
3. Why is the ocean considered as the CO2 sink of Earth? Does it make sense for living
organisms on Earth?
