M37-160kW

PURPOSE
To interface M37-160 Intellisys controlled compressors with Ingersoll-Rand
approved sequencers.

CAUTION!!
The installation of this equipment should only be undertaken by
competent electrical personnel.

CAUTION!!
Disconnect all electrical power before working on the machine.

1 INTERFACE TO THE COMPRESSOR

Install the interface assembly as illustrated in Figure 1

Ensure the communication cable and 48Vac supply interface


connections are made.

Connect the 48Vac / 0Vac supply cables to starter panel terminals as


follows:

Connect the serial communication cable into the Intellisys controller
(socket located top left) see Figure 2.

2 INTERFACE TO THE REMOTE SEQUENCE CONTROLLER

Customer to supply connection cables – recommended minimum


0.5mm² PVC multicore cable.

Recommended cable route – enter the compressor via a suitable route


but NOT the power inlet conduit. Direct the cable in the starter panel
through trunking.

Refer to the connection diagrams, wire the interface to the remote


sequence controller as required.

Note: Ensure correct connections

3 ENABLING THE CONTROLLERS

It is necessary to adjust the Intellisys controller operating parameters to


enable remote sequence option, the following describes the procedure:

Power up the compressor.

When display shows “Ready To Start” press the “Set” button to enter
customer set points.

Press the “Set” button repeatedly until “Select Options” LED is


illuminated and the display shows “Sequence Off”.

Press the arrow keys to display “Sequence On”, depress the “Set”
button to store sequencer enable function.

Press the “Display Select” button to exit the customer set point routine.

Display will show “Checking Machine”, followed by “Ready To Start”,


the compressor is now ready to operate via the sequencer.

Adjust the sequencer pressure switches to requirements, test to verify


operation.

Note:

The controller maintains all standard display and alarm functions, the
remote sequencer provides on line/off line control only.

Interface sequencer 1 provides a 48Vac output to indicate compressor


running (output terminal 3) if required. An additional relay will be
necessary if utilised, this is not supplied in the kit.

It is not possible to exceed the compressors maximum rated pressure.
