Openo Polytechnic College: Department of Building Electrical Installation

Based on the report, here are my recommendations: 1. Provide all interns with official identification cards to validate their internship status when on site. This will address the issue of Lony Moses not being allowed to work. 2. Closely monitor intern attendance and address any fluctuations. Speak to interns who are not attending consistently to understand challenges and provide support to improve attendance. 3. Work with the utility to ensure all interns have the opportunity to take the COC exam within the next 2-3 exam cycles. Not facilitating the exams could jeopardize the program and interns' future employment prospects. 4. Continue assessing intern performance and providing feedback to reinforce strong skills and address any areas needing improvement.

Summary
The gape I see from Gambella Electric utility operation maintenance manager he fails to
allow the intern Lony Moses to site work because he did not have an identification card.
This should identify him as the internship student in their site. Second to that some
students did not attendant the internship continuously the attendant will clarify them in
the work place. But some come to work on time effectively and they don’t leave the work
place until they are told to do so. They were good for last five months in this internship
program began but now some of them start fluctuation. They have a good performance in
skill, knowledge and attitude for practical work. Therefore, the students still now they did
not take the COC exam this show that the openo polytechnic college consultant have
problem in the facilitation of this program. So I ask you coordinator of this program in
GIZ to work hard in order to make all interns to take the COC exam in two or three
times. Otherwise our program will be out employees’ employments criteria that were
given by Ethiopia civil service.
