EDSA
REVOLUTION
(Reflection Paper)

Knowing the
whole story of the
EDSA Revolution, it
made me realize that
people amazingly reunited when they are being put into a terrific situation. Our country is
an archipelago which means each region have different ways of living, language, beliefs
and tradition and it’s really heart warming to know that during this event, everyone were
gathered together, showing support to each other just to reclaim the freedom and peace
that being taken from them due to the declaration of Martial Law and the abusive and
cruel military government that time.

February 22, 1986, this was the day that all the Filipino people gathered up in the
EDSA to support the military forces who turned their back from the administration of
President Marcos. There was this kind of picture taken from this event that even the
children and eldermen joined to deter the military tank of Marcos going inside the camp
of Aguinaldo and Crame. They gave food and flowers to the soldiers and persuade them
to turned their back to Marcos and be one of them. Starting from February 22 until 25,
people who’s being hopeful, stayed in the EDSA. They slept, ate and prayed there.

The happenings during the EDSA Revolution must be know and remember by all
Filipino citizens for it’s one of the significant events in our country where all of our
fellow Filipino showed love for the country and the freedom that all of us wants to keep.
