One of the problems that teachers face when trying to create more interactive, technology-

If you are working in a K-12 school in the US, UK, or CA (English-only) that manages
Chromebooks or Android tablets, then you can have access to the Chrome Web Store. Go to
chrome.google.com/webstore to get started. This is a great place for teachers to nd
extensions to increase e ciency, interactive curriculum content, or apps for Chrome.
Each app and extension in the Chrome Web Store is accompanied by a description,
screenshots or videos, reviews, and a star rating. Users around the world have access to
create, consume, and leave reviews. Consider these reviews when deciding whether or not the
app or extension is right for you or your students.
The Chrome Web Store has a lot of content available. Being able to nd appropriate resources
e ciently will help you when preparing for class. Here are a few useful skills to help you track
down some outstanding apps and extensions.

No Internet, No Problem
Sometimes the only place students have access to the internet is at
school. Getting them to experience valuable content when and
where they want to is important. That does not always coincide with
connectivity. So, use the lter of “Runs O ine” to nd apps that will
work for students without an internet connection. Apps with this
functionality will be represented by a small lightning bolt close to
the star based rating.
Learn How
Some apps with this tag allow users to open a variety of le formats
in their web application. For example, you may have a great, but
maybe old, resource in pdf format. After sharing it with students,
they may be able to open that resource with a speci c web
application and interact with it in more effective ways that were
never possible with traditional printed worksheet.

Scenario
Mr. Wong is an high school algebra and geometry teacher. He is hunting for content to help his
students understand the relationship between algebra and geometry. Speci cally, he wants to
deliver interactive content to students so they have the ability to adjust variables and
geometric gures to see the results of their changes.
His school provides chromebooks to each student for the entire school year and students are
expected to take the chromebooks home. He teaches in a school system where 50% of the
community has access to the internet at home.
Consider how Mr. Wong might be able to nd an interactive resource that his students could
use. Where would he look? How can he wade through all of the apps out there? How could he
easily distribute what he nds?
Use this as your temporary notepad, or jot down your ideas on paper.
