Reading software number with VCDS
Step Action

1. Connect the OBD readout connector from VCDS to the OBD socket of the vehicle and turn the
ignition on.
2. Start VCDS.

3. Click on “Select”

4. Click on “Common” and then “02 Auto Trans”

5. Note the “VAG Number”, for example: 02E 300 043 S

6. Note the “Component number”, for example: GSG DSG 070 1303

7. Click on “Meas. Blocks -08”

8. Go to “group 041”and note the code. For example: v0696L0302ea__getriebe_DSG_eQ6L


Circled in the picture below.
9. Please fill in the above data, together with the description of the complaint and error codes, on
your Remanufacture Order Form (ROF) and sent it together with the part to ACtronics.

Reading software number with
VAS5051
Step Action

1. Connect the OBD readout connector from VAS5051 to the OBD socket of the vehicle and
turn the ignition on.
2. Start VAS5051.

3. Click on “Vehicle Self-Diagnosis”

4. Click on “Vehicle Self-Diagnosis” again

5. Click on “02 – Gearbox electronics”

6. Click on “011-Read data block”

7. Fill in group number “41”

8. Note the circled data.
