PART 3 - EXECUTION
3.1 EXAMINATION
A. Ensure that surfaces to receive insulation are clean, dry, and suitable to provide a complete

B. Install insulation that is undamaged, dry, and unsoiled and that has not been left exposed at
any time to rain.
C. Extend insulation in thickness indicated to envelop entire area to be insulated. Cut and fit
tightly around obstructions and fill voids with insulation. Remove projections that interfere
with placement.
D. For preformed insulating units, provide sizes to fit applications indicated and selected from
manufacturer's standard thicknesses, widths, and lengths. Apply single layer of insulation
units to produce thickness indicated unless multiple layers are otherwise shown or required
to make up total thickness.
1. Ensure that surfaces to receive insulation are dry and free of matter detrimental to
installation of uniform layer of insulation.
2. Adhere stick clips to metal air barriers and concrete substrates at 300mm o.c. both
ways; 2 fasteners minimum for each full board width of 610mm and 4 fasteners for
each full board length 1220mm to ensure firm and continuous contact with substrates
and adjacent insulation boards.

efficiency of the insulation.
2. Protect from long periods of exposure before being concealed, by proper sequencing
of the work.
