2. Mr. Rahman has recently been selling wooden single chairs. In the first week three workers worked for
an eight-hour day and the output produced was 400 units by using 625 pounds of materials. Workers have
an hourly wage of $18, and material cost is $0.80 per pound. Overhead is 1.5 times labor cost. The weekly
productivity figures are given below. (For the output fill the **** with any value between 450-900 units
and for the materials fill the **** with any value between 700-1000 pounds). Compute the total
productivity for each of the weeks shown for their wallet manufacturing firm. (5 Marks)

3. The world as we know it is at a halt. This fast-paced planet and its success hungry people have been put
on hold. With so much advancement in all sectors of science, we are still struggling to find an actual cure
for this worldwide pandemic. People are stuck at home doing all the work that they would have to do in
the outside world. Amidst all these negatives, a positive in this pandemic is the evolution of online
platforms. One of the stores that popped up in the crowd is Hot Pan, a groundbreaking cloud kitchen that
sells pizza at doorstep until 4 am. Now answer the following,

a. What type of product packages are they offering to their customers? (1 Marks)
b. If you want to compete with an online cloud kitchen like them. What operations
strategies will you be using to be competitive in the market? Briefly explain. (1.5 Marks)
c. What will be your mission, vision, goals, and tactics? (2 Marks)
d. What are your order qualifiers and order winners? (1.5 Marks)
e. Which forecasting technique will suit better to predict the customer demand for this
type of business and why? (1.5 Marks)
f. How will you manage the wailing line? (1.5 Marks)

4. Mr. Karim is planning to open a bus service in a remote area and for that he bought one bus for this new
route. For now, he has decided to keep one agent to handle the queries of customers at the bus counter. He
estimates that customer queries will be average 18 per hour. Service time is expected to be average about
5 minutes per request. Determine each of the following:
a. Percentage of time the server (agent) will be idle. (1.25 Marks)
b. The expected number of customers waiting in the line. (1.25 Marks)
c. The average time customers will spend in the system. (1.25 Marks)
d. The probability of zero customers in the system and the probability of five customers
in the system. (1.25 Marks)
