1. Roof Covering* — Consisting of hot mopped or cold application materials compatible with insulation(s)
described herein which provide Class A, B or C coverings. See Roofing Materials and Systems Directory-Roof
Covering Materials(TEVT).

2. Sheathing Material* — Optional. Vinyl-film or paper scrim vapor barrier applied with adhesive to steel
roof deck, overlapped approx 2 in. on sides.

Steel Floor and Form Units* — Noncomposite 1 or 1 1/2 in. deep, 30 in. wide, galv units. Min gauge is 22
MSG for 30 in. or 36 in. wide units and 26 MSG for 24 in. wide units. Spacing of welds attaching units to
supports shall not exceed 12 in. O.C. Adjacent units button-punched or welded together 36 in. O.C. along
side joints.

7. Bridging — (Not shown) — 1/2-in. diam steel bars welded to top and bottom chords of each joist.

8. Hanger Wire — No. 12 SWG galv steel wire, spaced not over 48 in. O.C. along main runners, and to
occur additionally at splices in main runners, at the intersection of grid suspension members at all four
corners of the light fixtures, and at centers of cross tees immediately adjacent to the long dimensions of the
light fixtures. The hanger wires shall be attached to the lower chord of the metal bar joists.

9. Cold Rolled Channels — No. 16 MSG cold-rolled steel, 1-1/2 in. deep channels placed under air duct and
supported by hanger wires at each end, spaced not over 48 in. O.C., and at air outlets to support the air
ducts.

10. Air Duct — Formed of 22 MSG galv steel. Opening of individual outlets not to exceed 113 sq in. with
max dimension of 12 in.; area of outlets in each 100 sq ft not to exceed 57 sq in. As an alternate to the galv
steel duct, air ducts fabricated from rigid Air Duct Materials* may be used in lieu of steel ducts. The total
area of duct openings not to exceed 57 sq in. per each 100 sq ft of ceiling area. Area of individual duct
opening not to exceed 113 sq in. Max dimension of opening 12 in. The sheet steel take-off or throat is
positioned at the center of a 24 in. long, 22 MSG sheet steel duct liner. The sheet steel duct drop is insulated
with a nom 1 in. thick, 5 pcf density rigid round glass fiber material. The ducts are supported by 16 MSG, 1-
1/2 in. cold-rolled steel channels, suspended from the joists with 12 SWG galv hanger wire. Channels are
located directly below the sheet steel duct liner, one on each side of the duct drop, and are spaced between
duct drops at 72 in. OC for ducts up to 36 in. wide and 48 in. OC for ducts between 36 and 60 in. wide.

12. Air Outlet Protective Cover — 16- by 16- by 1-in. Acoustical Material* (same as item 16.) cut
from 24- by 48- by 1-in. acoustical lay-in panels, and placed on top of duct and centered over outlet.

various colors and finishes, installed perpendicular to cross tees or main runners and spaced 4 or 6 in. OC.
The flange edges of the metal pans engage and interlock with the vertical tabs of the corresponding grid
adapters with tabs 4 or 6 in. OC (See Item 13B). End laps joints of the metal pans shall occur adjacent to
main runners or cross tees. The metal pans shall each be supported by at least two main runners or cross
tees.

14. Fixtures, Recessed Light — (Bearing the UL Listing Mark). Fluorescent lamp type, steel housing, 2 by
4 ft size. Fixtures spaced so their area does not exceed 16 sq ft per 100 sq ft of ceiling area. Wired in
conformance with the National Electrical Code. One min 0.042 in. thick (18 gauge) painted steel angle
formed as a yoke is required at the center of each light fixture. Fixtures and ballasts must be considered for
these ambient temperature conditions before installation.

14A. Fixture Stabilizer — (Not shown) — For use with the Type 1650 metal pans (See Item 13A); one min
0.047 in. thick (16 MSG) galv steel channel yoke per light fixture, secured to the web at midspan of cross
tee on each side of fixture.

14B. Fixture Stabilizer — (Not shown) (Optional) — Min. 0.020 in. thick (25 MSG) painted steel spacer bar
formed as an angle with 1 in. legs and hemmed edges and slots perpendicular to and near the ends of the
spacer bar for engaging over the bulb of the tees. Engaged over the bulb at midspan of the cross tees on
each side of all light fixtures and over the bulb of the adjacent cross tee.

14C. Fixture Stabilizer — For use with Type G2 Acoustic material nom 24 x 24 in., one per fixture
assembly min 0.053 in. thick (16 gauge) painted steel channel, formed as a yoke, secured to web of
suspension members adjacent to long dimension of and at midspan of each fixture.

15. Fixture Protection — Acoustical Material* — Same as Item 16. Cut into pieces to form a three sided
enclosure, trapezoidal in cross-section, approx 1/2 in. longer and wider than the fixture with sufficient depth
to provide at least 1/2 in. clearance between the top of the fixture and the enclosure. Top pieces placed on
top of side piece without attachment.

16. Acoustical Material* — Nom 24x24, 36 or 48 in. lay-in panels. Border panels supported at walls by
min 0.016 in. thick (26 gauge) painted steel angle with 1 in. legs; or min 0.016 in. thick (26 gauge) painted
steel channel, 1-5/8 in. deep with 3/4 in. top flange and 1 in. bottom flange. (S)=surface perforations.

CERTAINTEED CEILINGS — Type 5/8 or 3/4 in. D (S), G2 .

17. Speaker Assemblies* — (Not Shown) Optional. The speaker assemblies consist of speakers, speaker
enclosures and their accessories. The ceiling penetration for the speaker enclosure shall not exceed 11-7/8
by 11-7/8 in. for the square speaker enclosures and 12 in. in diam for the round speaker enclosures. The
speaker assemblies are installed in accordance with the installation instructions provided. A maximum of two
144 sq in. speaker assemblies per 100 sq ft of ceiling area is allowed.
