Project Objectives
This proposal summarizes the estimated features, schedule, and investment required to deliver Data warehouse all
of your organizational data into one place for easier access and better analytics, is every business stakeholder’s
dream.
The data warehouse has a history of storing data in a way that is optimal for reporting and other analysis, such as
OLAP, or Online Analytical Processing. The data warehouse uses a combination of efforts of hardware and software
not only to acquire the data but also to present data for users to access it in their desired format. Once the data is in
a data warehouse, there is the availability to develop them into data marts, which specialize in the arrangement of
data for specific business purposes. Finally, there are hosts of reporting tools available that make the data
warehouse a user-friendly experience for those who want to pull the data themselves rather than waiting for 3

distribution from others. The creation and evolution of the data warehouse make it an invaluable tool that makes
Business Intelligence possible.
Data Warehouse is extremely helpful when organizing large amounts of data to retrieve and analyses efficiently. For
the same reason, extreme care should be taken to ensure that the data is rapidly accessible. One approach to
designing the system is by using dimensional modelling – a method that allows large volumes of data to be efficiently
and quickly queried and examined. Since most of the data present in data warehouses are historical and stable – in a
sense, it doesn’t change frequently, there is hardly a need to employ repetitive backup methods. Instead, once any
data is added, the entire warehouse can be backed up at once – instead of backing up routinely.

1. Organization and Staffing

The Information architect & Data warehouse designer initially understand the requirement and develops a flowchart
based on corporate information provided by [XXXX] to determine the most effective robust Database. A well
planned, well managed Datamart’s will easily available and accessible for reporting . Effective and professional
design capabilities increase the overall success of the site, making it more functional and user-friendly. The data
modeler will develop a data model for this Data warehouse. Data mining specialist will extract and load row data for
cleansing and data stagging. Data warehouse Administrator will maintain respository environment. All of these
ongoing job/project handled & deployed under Project Manager’s team. Below chart specifies the organizational
staffing.

2. Statement of Work

The MLOGICA is a technology and product consulting company will Develop a comprehensive Data warehouse
for [XXXX].The scope, deliverables and acceptance criteria of the Services to be performed pursuant to this
Scope of Work are defined as
The proposal is the request to provide a data warehouse is to have a better platform on which to report data.
Combining the data from all the other databases in the environment, the data warehouse becomes the single
source for users to obtain data. All reporting would be based on a single database, rather than on individual
repositories of data. Using a data warehouse, a report writer does not need to learn multiple databases or
attempt to try to join data between more than one database.

Data warehouse Architectural Diagram:

A data mart can be understood as a repository of data built to serve a particular section
of the organization. A data mart contains one subset of the entire organization data that
is valuable to a specific group of people. For example, a data mart specifically designed
for the marketing team might just contain only data related to items, customers, and
sales.

2.1.1. Software Development Roadmap:

The following development activities will be followed in this project

2.1.2. Evaluation of organizational objective

The first step in setting up your organization’s data warehouse is to evaluate organizational goals

-Initialization Parallel Investigation:

MLogica will Identify and prioritize executive and management reporting and analysis needs, priorities,
constraints, and expectations. At minimum, known and documented business requirements will need to
be validated. A series of structured interviews with primary stakeholders works well, followed by a group
session to validate, synthesize, and prioritize findings.
-Gap Analysis:
Mologica will map the prioritized business information needs against the current warehouse in terms of
data availability. This establishes a view of key gaps from the perspective of business need. Map
prioritized business information needs against identified architectural (and possibly organizational)
problems. This is a mapping of information needs to architectural issues that inhibit
meeting the business needs, and whose resolution would significantly improve delivery of required
business information and analysis capabilities.
- Identify Solution Sets:
Identify an initial list of potential solutions to addressing warehousing problems and correspondingly
impacted business needs. This activity involves a subjective analysis of problem affinity
analysis based on the earlier mapping. Evaluation of affinity leads to parsing of logically distinct
solutions.
-Package and Present Recommendations:
This involves:

 Compilation and final documentation of analysis.

 Presentation of findings.
 Validation of recommendations with management.
 Decisions on which solution set(s) to pursue.

2.1.3. Analyses of current technological systems

The purpose of current systems analysis technique is to identify shortcomings and issues with current
systems. It is used to assess the usefulness, usability, and overall user satisfaction with the current
systems to facilitate decision making concerning the current systems’ strategic and tactical viability

Mlogica will conduct System analysis in order to identify its objectives It is a problem-solving technique
that improves the system and ensures that all the components of the system work efficiently to
accomplish their purpose.

2.1.4. Information modelling

Data modeling in data warehouses is different from data modeling in operational database systems.
The primary function of data warehouses is to support DSS processes. Thus, the objective of data
warehouse modeling is to make the data warehouse efficiently support complex queries on long term
information.

2.1.5. Designing of the warehouse and tracking the data

Data warehouse design is the process of building a solution to integrate data from multiple sources that
support analytical reporting and data analysis

 Defining Business Requirements (or Requirements Gathering) ...

 Setting Up Your Physical Environments. ...
 Introducing Data Modeling
 Choosing Your Extract, Transfer, Load (ETL) Solution. ...
 Online Analytic Processing (OLAP) Cube. ...
 Creating the Front End
 Optimizing Queries
 Establishing a Rollout.

2.1.6. Implement the plan

With the help of Data warehouse, the organization can easily increase its efficiency, can easily achieve
its goals and objectives with minimal efforts and can-do wonders for the organization. With the use of
effective data warehouse management, one can take advantage of numerous data available and can
reach the heights of success.

ETL testing is performed in five stages:

 Identifying data sources and requirements

 Data acquisition

 Implement business logic and Dimensional Modeling

 Build and populate data

 Build Reports
