I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson, the pupils will be able to:
a. Identify different months in a year.
b. Solved problems involving months in a year.
c. Appreciate the importance of calendar.

Topic: Solving Problems involving month in a year


Reference: Mathematics Textbook: Teachers Guide and Learners Materials; pp. 180-
181; 249-251.
Materials: Calendar, Visual Aids

III. Procedure

I. Preparatory Activities

a. Review of the previous lesson about telling time.

b. Motivation
 Let the pupils sing the song “Enero, Pebrero…”
 Ask questions about the song
 Show the calendar to the class.
 Ask questions about the calendar.

II. Lesson Proper

a. Activity
 Call several pupils to encircle the date of their birthdays.

b. Analysis
 Ask, how many months in a year?
 What is the correct sequence of months in a year?
 How many days in each month?
 What months have the same number of days of 30, 31?
 What month has the least days?

c. Abstraction
 Proceed on the discussion exemplifying the questions in the
analysis.

d. Application
 Let the pupils do group activity regarding problems involving
calendar ask them questions such as the specific days on the
certain month and date given using the 2021 calendar.

e. Generalization
 Have a recap on the lesson and discussed the importance of
the lesson.

f. Assessment
 Let the student answer the question given using the 2021
calendar.

 Let the teacher ask the pupils about the story, “Fun at the
Beach” and ask situations relating to pupils’ personal
experiences.

c. Abstraction
 Proceed on the discussion about preposition in, on, under
using the phrases present in the story and ask questions such
as;
1. What did the family do at the beach?
2. What did Ben and Linda do?
3. Where did Linda put the shells?
4. In the story, where did Ben and Linda play?
5. Where did mother get the foods?
6. How does your family spend time together?
7. Is it important to have family bonding? Why?

d. Application
 Let the pupils do group activity.
 The teacher will post a pictures of a bedroom and ask
questions regarding the prepositions in, on and under.

e. Generalization
 Let the class will do the recap on the lesson and let the teacher
