1.INTRODUCTION
The “Medical Store Management System” has been developed to override the
problems prevaling in the parcticing manual system. This system is supported to
eliminate and in some cases reduce the hardship faced by this existing system.
Moreover this system is designed for particular need of the company to carry
out operations in a smooth and effective manner.
The system is reduced as much as possible to avoid errors while entering invalid
data. No formal Knowledge is neended for the user to use this system. Thus by
this all it proves it is user-friendly. “Medical Store Management System”, as
described above can lead to error free, secure, reliable and fast management
system. It can assist the user to concentrate on their other activities rather to
concentrate on the record keeping. Thus it will help organisation in better
utilization of resources.
System analysis is being done for the purpose of creation and development of the
management system in which we conduct a detailed study of the requirements, alternative
designs and the solutions for the development of the package. We also researched about what
are the backlogs in existing systems and what are those loop holes that we can use to make
our project look and work more effectively and also create a user-friendly environment for
the user.
Existing system: In existing system the exams are done only manually but in
proposed system we have to computerize the exams using this application.
o Lack of security of data.
o More man power.
o Time consuming.
o Consumes large volume of paper work.
o Needs manual calculations.
o No direct role for the higher officials.
Need for new system: The old manual system was suffering from a series of
drawbacks. Since whole of the system was to be maintained with hands the process of
keeping, maintaining and be in a systematic order. There used to be a lot of difficulties
in associating any particular transaction with a particular context. If any information
was to be found it was required to go through the different registers, documents there
would never exist anything like report generation. There would always be unnecessary
consumption of time while entering records. One more problem was that it was very
difficult to find errors while entering the records. Once the records were entered it was
very difficult to update these records.
