LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
To make the students learn the Importance and objectives of four obligatory Islamic rituals of
worships.

ASSIGNMENT QUESTION:
Islam has made some certain acts of worship (Offering Prayers, zakat, fasting and Hajj)
obligatory on its followers. Every act of worship has a specific purpose or benefit. These specific
objectives are stated in the Holy Qur'an and Hadith, which highlight the importance of these acts
of worship, as well as, their benefits.
In this assignment, you will write the translation of one verse or Hadith about the
importance or benefits of four obligatory Islamic worships (Prayers, zakat, fasting and Hajj)
separately and the short explanation of each described verse or Hadith in your own words.

LEARNING OUTCOMES:
After this assignment the students will be able to learn the Importance and objectives of
obligatory rituals of worship in Islam.

IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS
• Answer should be in the form of headings and a short description.
• Translation of 1 Quranic verse or 1 Hadith expressing the importance, objective or benefit of
the concerned act of worship must be added. (more than one will not be considered).
• A short explanation of described Quranic verse or Hadith (in your own words) is also
mandatory.
Note: Explanation should not be more than 5 lines. (more than 5 lines will not be considered
and may cause marks deduction.

DIVISION Of MARKS
• Total marks are 20
• Each act of worship will carry 5 marks.
• Each Quranic verse or Hadith will carry 2 marks.
• Short explanation of Quranic verse and Hadith will be awarded maximum 3 marks.
IMPORTANT:
24 hours extra/grace period after the due date is usually available to overcome uploading
difficulties. This extra time should only be used to meet the emergencies. The above-mentioned
due dates should always be treated as final to avoid any inconvenience.

GUIDELINES/SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS
For relevant knowledge, do not rely only on handouts but also listen the course audio lectures,
and also use other reference books.
For planning your semester activities in an organized manner, you are advised to view schedule
of the upcoming Assignments, Quizzes and GDBs in the overview tab of the course website on
VU-LMS.

OTHER IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS:


Make sure to upload the solution file before due date on VULMS.
▪ Any submission made via email after the due date will not be accepted.

FORMATTING GUIDELINES:
▪ Use the font style “Times New Roman” or “Arial” and font size “12” in Black color.
▪ If you wish to submit your answer in Urdu, you should compose your answer in MS
Word or Inpage first and then take screenshot and insert your answer in assignment
answer box in “Picture Form”. Don’t Paste the Urdu text directly or Compose Urdu in
LMS directly because LMS sometimes doesn’t support it and it shows as interrogative
marks and cause deficiency in marks.

Please note that your assignment will not be graded or graded as Zero (0), if:

▪ It is submitted after the due date.


▪ The file you uploaded does not open or is corrupt.
▪ It is plagiarized (copy-pasted), copied from other students, internet, books, journals etc.

Note Related to the Load Shedding: Please be proactive


Dear students!

The academic activities have started and load shedding problem is prevailing in our country
nowadays. Keeping in view the fact, you all are advised to post your activities as early as possible
without waiting for the due date. For your convenience; activity schedule has already been
uploaded on VULMS for the current semester, therefore no excuse will be entertained after due
date of assignments, quizzes or GDBs.
