List of cleaning and sanitizing agents or supplies
 Acid – cleaning agents are used to remove scaling and other inorganic deposits. Normally, the
active ingredients in such solutions include chelants and mineral acids along with corrosion
inhibitors and surfactants.
 Squeegee – A squeegee or squilgee is a tool with a flat, smooth rubber blade, used to remove or
control the flow of liquid on a flat surface. It is used for cleaning.
 Chlorine – is also useful for cleaning household surfaces like floor sand counters if present in a
compound like chlorinated bleach. If you are using chlorine bleach for household cleaning
 Degreaser – is a cleaning agent used to dissolve grease and oil from hard surfaces. Many
degreasers contain chemicals or solvents designed to cause a chemical reaction to change the
state of substance and make it easier to remove.
 Oven cleaner – chemical substance used for cleaning ovens.

Cleaning schedule
 McDonald's have a specialized team of trained customer service personnel who ensure that the
dining spaces, including any children's play equipment, are kept extraordinarily clean at all
times. All McDonald's personnel receive extensive cleaning method training, and each
restaurant has a daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning routine that includes sanitizing and
cleaning every 20–30 minutes to ensure the safety of all customers. Every 30 minutes, all
McDonald's employees must have their temperatures taken and wash their hands.

Cleaning procedures of at least three (3) different equipment

 Iron Pot, Pans, and Utensils
1. Wash with soap and water, using a stiff brush, scouring powder, or steel wool.
2. If rust remains, wipe items with an oil-saturated cloth or a commercial rust remover. If using
a commercial rust remover, be sure to follow the label instructions.
3. Wash again in hot, soapy water, rinse, and dry thoroughly.
 Stainless Steel and Nickel-Copper Alloy
1. Wash thoroughly and polish with a fine-powdered cleanser.
2. If hardware is broken so that base metal is exposed and rusted, wipe with kerosene.
3. Then wash and dry the surface. Wax after each use to prevent further rusting.
 Grill
Materials/cleaning agents needed
o Grill scraper
o Bottle of pickle juice
o Grill brush
o Grill cloths
o Liquid dish soap
o Sponge
Procedure
1. Turn the sear plate temperature knob on the grill to 375 degrees Fahrenheit, in between the
350 and 400 degree marks.
2. When the grill heats up to 375 degrees Fahrenheit, grab the grill scraper so that the flat end
is on the grill. Scrape the grill in a top to bottom pattern until all the leftover pieces of food
are scraped off.
3. Once you finish scraping the grill, grab the bottled pickle juice and squirt it all over the grill.
Put the tops down and wait for 1 minute.
4. After 1 minute has passed, lift the tops of the grill up again. Grab the grill brush and start
brushing the top of the surface in the same up and down pattern as the scraper
5. Turn off the grill as soon as any remaining pickle juice dries out, and wait for it to cool down.
6. Grab the grill cloth when you are done scrubbing. Rinse the cloth in water and scrub the grill
until all the soap is gone. Grab a dry cloth to dry the remaining water left on the grill.

Plan on managing waste

 McDonald’s is absolutely committed to preserving and protecting the environment. They are also
committed to taking a total “life cycle” approach to solid waste.80% of MacDonald’s guest
packaging were made of renewable, recycled or certified sources. On the other hand, the
remaining 20% are made of plastics. By doing so, they can help preserve the cleanliness of our
environment.

1. Reduce plastic in guest packaging

- There are plastic materials that are hard to recycle, therefore eliminating those materials is
a must in order to prevent them from leaking into the environment and cause problems.
2. Prioritize innovation of new materials and redesign of plastic packaging
- There are other things that are safer to use than plastics, therefore shifting from plastic to a
safer material is a great idea to be more recyclable. The McDonald understand the
importance of streamlining plastics in order to improve recycling rates.
3. Increase the amount of recycled plastic content used in all parts of the restaurants
- Maximizing the use of recycled materials can help drive demand for plastic recycling.
4. Partner with Franchisees
- To support community-level anti-litter initiatives such as consumer communication
campaigns and cleanup days.
