IMPORTANT

Please complete the PRIOR TO CLASS steps as soon as possible to determine whether your system has
the necessary technical components for the SAS Live Web class.

Each participant should join the class using his or her own computer for optimal class participation.

Non-registered students are not permitted to view a Live Web class. SAS may disconnect without refund
any students who broadcast a Live Web class to non-registered students.

PRIOR TO CLASS

1. Live Web classroom Zoom testing - https://zoom.us/test

Once you successfully connect to the meeting, the test is complete and you can click on Leave Meeting
in the lower right corner of that window.

SAS uses Zoom Meetings to host our courses. You can download the Zoom client or run the meeting
through your Chrome Browser. Please note that only Chrome browser provides Computer Audio.

Review System Requirements for PC, Mac and Linux

Once you successfully connect to the test meeting, click Leave Meeting in the lower right corner of the
meeting window.

2. SAS Virtual Lab - test your connection by using this URL:

There are 2 methods to test; you may proceed with any one of the method.

Method 1 : SAS Virtual Lab (Download & Install Citrix Receiver)

*Please take note that it will take some time to load

Remember to LOG OFF when you are done

a. Click on Virtual lab test link above and the appropriate credentials should automatically fill the
username and password fields. Click Log On

b. Select the menu on the top right to Download the Citrix Receiver.
c. Select the check box for the Citrix license agreement, then select the Download button to download
and install the Citrix Receiver. All the other options (light version, already installed, security details) are
ignored for now.

d. Execute the install using all the default settings. Do not enable Single Sign On. If successfully
installed, the following screen will appear. Select Finish.

e. Go back to the web and click on the Virtual Lab Test icon.

f. Your connection is successful if only you see this window


e. If administrative privileges prevent installations on the local desktop, please proceed to the next step,
Change Citrix Receiver.

Method 2 :SAS Virtual lab (Change Citrix Receiver)

Alternatively, if above citrix method does not work for you due to administrative privileges, office
network restrictions, or you would like to make things easier, you may use this HTML5 Client
method to open virtual lab.

a. If desktop restrictions prevent the full Citrix receiver from being installed, select the menu on the top
right to Change Citrix Receiver.

b. In the window that appears, select Use Light Version.

c. On the application selection screen, single-click the application to launch. If using the light (in-
browser) mode, the application will launch in a new browser tab (except Virtual Lab Test).
d. Go back to the web and click on the Virtal Lab Test icon.
e. Your connection is successful if only you see this window

f. If you were not able to see the window with the same message, it may have been blocked on your
workstation or within your organization network. Please use personal machine to connect (if allowed) or
look for your IT to whitelist the website and allow connection, refer to below SAS Virtual Lab
Networking Requirements.

SAS Virtual Lab Networking Requirements

The SAS Virtual Lab leverages Citrix to provide SAS software across the web. This requires the following:

a. An internet connection of 130kbps per student. Wired connections are preferred. Wireless is
less stable and less reliable.
b. Access to the SAS Virtual Lab Gateway information:
1. https://labs.liveweb.sas.com
2. IP: 149.173.72.171
3. Port: 443
4. TLS 1.0+ required
5. Users can test firewall connectivity here.
c. The Citrix Receiver installed on your local computer.
d. Alternatively, if the client machine administrative privileges prevent client installations, the SAS
Virtual Labs can be accessed using a browser-based HTML5 client. These browsers are
compatible with this method:
